Were not judging him, at least i'm not.
But if he wants to sell all his stuff this isn't the way to do it becuase nobody will shell out so much money in one buy.

If he'd sell all the stuff loose collectors from all over the world would be bidding on the stuff like there is no tomorrow.

$100k will retire someone in HK...

  3. Yeh, I think the general attitude here was not "Selling that stuff? He must be a fake!" but rather "HOLY SHIT!!! I WISH I HAD THAT SORT OF MONEY." I thought the price and the amount of stuff being sold was fairly surreal, which made me wonder if his account had not gotten hijacked or something like that. As far as the seller goes, LingJR is excellent, I won a 64DD Doushin The Giant disc off of him a few weeks back and he does a great job of communicating, and had super fast (and well packaged) shipping.

    Good guy, but high priced...

...those have always been the words to describe Ling.

He's never cheated anyone AFAIK, but his prices have always been higher than the actual value of the item in question. He also tends to overhype rarity just a bit. ;)

Ling's kinda like the local shop that's always overpriced. If you want something NOW you can pay more and get it from him, but if you're willing to wait you can always get a better deal.

  5. Yeah, I'd have to agree - the 64DD disk I got for a nice price (~$20 shipped) on an auction of his, but the other stuff is a little (or a lot) more expensive than it's really worth. It's just REALLY neat to see all of that rare stuff, for sale, in the hands of one collector.

99% of the stuff for sale don't interest me, so i guess it's not my idea of an ultimate collection :smt019 price is a bit steep , not many people gonna have $100,000 usd knocking about but i guess if it floats yer boat & you got the £££ you wou would be very happy :smt040

$100,000 is very high for a collector. That is a portion of a normal persons retirement account. As far as I know video games are not very popular with truly rich collectors. Video games are not sothebys material. I do beleive he may have a chance at selling to a dealer. That is the only way I could see someone justifying $100,000 on video games. If he sells it I would bet all my assets that a big dealer made the purchace with the intension of reselling everything.

I"m pretty sure whoever buys it will sell quite a bit of it. I don't think even the geekiest of geeks would want EVERYTHING in that stack.

i think its just too many things at the same time .... :smt017

the fun to collect things is that it take time to have what you want , you have to search , found great prices , decide , and it can take you a lot of time to get all this , and you can have a lot of fun finding them.
but hey , imagine someone that start a collection and got all this at the same time ....woah.... can-he finish looking and adding things in his collection and be proud of all this ? well, for what i think , not really. he can't apreciate each and every things he have (hey , its my opinion )

but its fun to see all this rare stuff at the same time :smt118

and someone said that its too much money to spend to have this set .
well , this guy is taking the shipping charge . :smt040

Though I can understand if he got bored.

Sometime you need to move on, maybe you found out you dont need 15 consoles(or in his case 50+ consoles and thousands of games). Ive been there where you get newer stuff just to be able to add an item to your "collection homepage". One day you wake up and realize you bought shit you never used, maybe its rare but you would be happier if someone else could find a use for it.

yes , your totally right , its rare that i buy rare games that i know they will not interest me in the fun factor ....soemone times it happen , sure but its when i found THE great deal .

aproximatly 90% of games that i own are games that i can play without be bored in less than 30 minutes
    :smt043

others are just for collections (maybe i can't play them more than 30 minutes because they are just sealled too :smt033 )

Cahaz is right, i have been collecting for many years, and i have built up a prettey good collection. However, i did not start out having everything i have now. I had an NES and two games, and that was it. Now, i have hundreds of games and many consoles, and the best part has been "the hunt". I would say it has been worth it.

Anyone care to work out what it cost?
