  2. Actually, he was always selling those items in his store to begin with, which is why I thought it odd that he would list them all in his auction as well, unless he has doubles on some of those things... :smt118

I don't know who reported the auction, but I think it was rather lame - that's a lot different that people selling Half-Life or PA on eBay. Anyways, I'm not complaining too much, as it gives me time to save up and buy that SFC Dev Box. Who needs to go to college anyways? :smt117

Wideboys aren't very rare but I've never seen a development one come up. He has sold regular ones for around $100, its just that this one is special.

His prices are steep to say the least, that aiwa megadrive/megacd system went in the same condition with 6 games instead of 2 for about $400 a few weeks back.

Yeah, the prices of his stuff is way too high. However, since a lot of it doesn't show up very often I suppose it's fair, as in if anybody is willing to pay that much.

I have to agree with the former posters, I personally don't collect games or systems that I'll never use. What's the point of buying a game that you keep in the shrinkwrap? All must stuff I buy to play with, so I don't care about getting used or incomplete items.

However if your intent is to resell later on, then by all means keep it sealed in the box. I suppose my collection hasn't hit that point yet.

  6. Hear, hear. Although I do usually save the boxes just for display purposes, but to me the whole point of owning game systems and games is to play them, dev systems to tinker with them, etc. This was the reasoning behing me selling my Famicom Modem last spring (I now wish I hadn't but I needed the cash) - I couldn't do a damn thing with it as I don't have a working Famicom.

Just on the topic of Wideboys, how much do they usually run? And I noticed the following pic on Ling's site:

Was the Wideboy made by Konami, or is this a special one? I'm rather interested in picking one up at some point this summer...

From what i read when Ign had one of these, they said that they are mostly hand made by a specific company for nintendo. At the time they talked about it when it was still being used, they said it was very expensive. Try to do a search for it on ign to see if you can find the artical.
