I was trying to negotiate with the owner of Worms Pinball to allow atreyu187 to dump it and return it to him but I stopped speaking to the owner a few years ago. Would be a nice game to have. He put some videos of it up on Youtube.

He even says on the video he would love to get it released to the community.

"It's on a GDR that needs to be put in after booting off of an official boot disc. I'd love to get it out to a community of DC or Worms folks that would appreciate it for sure. I've got to look into what I need to do to make that possible ;)."

So recently nothing has come of it? Sorry if that's a dumb question, but if he's so willing this community would be a huge help to him.

Does Castlevania Resurrection counts? If memory serves right, an early build was available to IGN back then, so technically speaking, it is in circulation somewhere out there.

The problem is nobody's ever seen a GD-Rom of the Castlevania demo so there's no proof it exists. Reviewers may have seen the demo in the Capcom offices, or been ordered to return the disc. If it was in the Capcom offices (quite likely) then there's no guarantee it would even run on a Dreamcast console as it could have been running on a PC or devkit ready to be ported if it got the green light (we know it obviously didn't.. or it didn't get very far)

An artist who worked on the game claims discs existed - but, again, nobody's ever seen them outside the dev studio.

I'm doubtful it will ever surface - but then things like the Toejam & Earl beta surfaced after all these years so it isn't impossible, just not very likely imho.

It would be more productive to try and locate the betas that we know exist but haven't been released into the wild. As this thread proves, there are still a few of them out there.

Capcom? Don't you mean Konami :)
Actually a French site or online store apparently sold a copy of Dreamcast castlevania on a BASF CDR many years ago. It was even talked about here. We're talking around 2004 or so. Many years back.

Yeah, Konami - Funny thing is, I even paused as I was typing it and thought "Is that right?"... hey, I was tired :)

I think the French site/BASF disc was a fake - it's not like they ever provided proof there was anything on the disc, which is (ahem...) strange for a 2000 euro disc (I'm sure it was a crazy price...) If that doesn't scream 'fake', I don't know what does?

He probably sold it off to a collector privately... 5 years ago.

    - TD Cycles (tech demo)
    - Take the Bullet
    - Dee Dee Planet (complete build)

    Unconfirmed
    - English localisation of 'Shanghai Dynasty'
    - Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos

About VF4 on dc. There's a 12+ pages thread about it, my man.
It has been proven to be technically possible in one way or the other. The question remains as to wether it saw any development for the dc at all. Iirc in that thread there are some rumours about a proto somewhere but that's pretty much it. http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/virtua-fighter-4-dreamcast-any-info.15427/

I'd love to know what happened to Colin McRae 2.0 for Dreamcast. By all accounts it was around 90% finished when Codemasters dropped it. Surely it must exist somewhere?

But the one from this video was the one meant for DC?

I remember that i read in the "rumors" section of a Spanish Magazine Hobby Consolas (in some edition of 2001) about a Infogrames DBZ game for Dreamcast in development state...And there is this video of a cancelled game from the same time...so? could it be? There was a DBZ game in development in some point for DC? Because no other that in that magazine i´ve see nothing about a DBZ Infogrames game for DC....

I mean, the appeal of the fewer gameplay scenes reminds a lot of sagas...wich was developed by avalanche software and distribiuted by Atari (Part of Infogrames in 2005)...so? May be the origins of sagas are on DC???

Don´t seem impossible...i mean both Sagas and the first and second Budokai don´t seem to be out of the Dreamcast visual capabilities.

I believe the version of Take The Bullet in a specific collector's hands is 45% complete.

Soul Reaver 2 started as a PS1/Dreamcast/PC game. The first game ends on a cliffhanger, so it's pretty obvious that they picked up from where they left pretty quickly. Initially, the game was running on what seems to be an identical/very similar engine.
As time went on and PS2 specs became finalized and the system was released, a new engine was created that would take advantage of the more powerful systems (you have to remember that the Dreamcast version of Soul Reaver was essentially the PS1 version running at 640x480 with better 3D models for the main characters and better draw distance). So, a Dreamcast version was certainly worked on for quite a while, I suspect that at some point they started to focus on the PS2 much more.

By 2001 the Dreamcast was dying pretty fast and as such Eidos probably thought it wasn't worth the effort releasing the game at all on Sega's machine, perhaps it would have required significant work to do so, who's to tell us how far that version was developed anyway? What remains are some screenshots from the early version which you can take a look at here:

Without insisting anyone release anything - are there any proto/beta collectors on the forum who have seen discs traded behind the scenes of games that haven't been mentioned here?

A lot of what's been mentioned so far is purely speculative, I mean we don't know for sure that 'Black and White' (for example) exists at all, like many of the other games mentioned in this thread.

Perhaps some proto collectors have been offered betas of games over the years? I'm more curious to know about the discs that genuinely could still be out in the wild.

    Anyone?
