I can't be the only one...

I haven't been waiting 3 years for it, but lately I've been getting really interested in it. Its doing a lot of firsts for WRPGs, like being able to buy entire towns.

It looks like Peter Molyneux has learned from the mistakes of Fable 1. I've been watching some gameplay videos lately, he said something interesting.

In Fable 2 you can buy a pub, store, or whatever, and adjust the items stocked there and the prices, and you get money based on that, not just doing little quests, and you get money by doing actual jobs like tailoring or smithing. This is something that I like the sound of. Clearing caves of goblins in caves for a pocket of gold is getting rather old, although he claimed you can still do that sort of thing.

What he said some tester guy did in the video was, when he bought the pub, he put the price of the beer sold there down to 0 gold, and when he came back to the town, everyone in it was drunk, so he was able to steal from everyone in the town and rob all the stores without anyone caring because they were all drunk.

The customization options are a lot more in depth from the first game as well, and your character's looks change depending on more than just good or evil. Now there is nobility, purity, and corruption, and a few others, and the clothing options are extremely vast I've heard.

Another cool feature is that your character can buy every piece of property in the game, but according to Molyneux you would need to spend roughly 25 million gold. I've heard other sources say it would cost 100 million gold, however. And each house you own can be custom decorated, whether that means custom placing of objects or not I don't know, but its leages ahead of other WRPGs where you are a lone mercenary killing rats for chump change.

And one time at Wal-Mart there was a creepy guy who told me he loved the idea of marrying female NPCs, but you can do that, too. I think you could do that in Fable 1 as well, but this time you can buy them clothes and change their outfits. Ok, its starting to sound creepy. Not the focal part of the game for me, but Molyneux also stated its a nice way to make money, if your character marries a rich ugly woman and then takes her into the woods where an unfortunate "accident" would occur. He also said your spouse could divorce you and take half of your stuff as well if you are a bad spouse. You can also have kids but I'm not sure what the point of having kids in the game is now that they said kids aren't your "Second lives" any more, because beta testers would just multiply like rabbits and have like 20 kids.:noooo:

Anyways, I can't wait to get this game on October 21st. That, and I can't wait to get Fallout 3.

I dunno. I have the first one, but I haven't really gotten to play it. The BC on the 360 for it is really bad, and I no longer have an old sexbox.

It does look pretty cool. but it could also turn out to be "not my type of game". Does spark my interest though. Maybe I should try the first one again.

I think Fable 2 is going to be awesome, and I cannot wait for it to come out.

Fable 1 has been sitting on my shelf for 5 years, that's not a good sign. Play it, get fed up, play something more fun..

I continue to drool over Gears 2 like a rabid dog though.

The few short minutes I got to play of Fable 2 were amazing (and Fallout 3 for that matter). I did the combat section and it felt really good playing. I then petted my dog a few times and he barked and led me to a treasure chest off the beaten path. Awesome.

It's going to be typical Molyneux - grand vision, ridiculous scope, frustratingly flawed execution.

i think i heard him say he would quit gaming if he wasn't satisfied with Fable 2. that's a pretty bold statement. i could be wrong though.

He's full of sweeping, grandiose statements, so that doesn't surprise me. I want to like what he does, but his developmental process seems to go along the lines of 1/ have an idea, which is massive in scope, and then 2/ try and realise this vision in a short space of time. The inevitable result is broken games. You can pull that shit a couple of times before I cross your games off my "to buy" list.

He's seemed to tone down his hype machine with an anti-hype machine (pointing out flaws) so maybe it's actually going to turn out okay this time?

Is it possible to kill kids?

I'M NOT BUYING IT IF YOU CAN'T:lol:

Just kidding. Lots of people want to know, though.

I got really excited for the first Fable, and look where that got us. I remember the first few hours of playing the game; "Why the hell are there so many fences?"

Then again, I don't have a 360 anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. That is, until the eventual PC port comes out.

I know I did - I thought it was the only way to open the 'evil' demon door. Turns out, I just had to eat 10 crunchy chicks. Go figure.

Anyway, I for one am looking forward to Fable 2 - I had a couple of false starts with the first one before getting going, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do feel, however, that the 'Pub Games' are much more disappointing than the Fable 1 games - it's more about blind luck now rather than taking any sort of skill.

You can eat people in Fable 2? I remember reading a Fallout 3 manual on the internet that stated you might have to eat people to survive outside of the vault.

I was never really a fan of Fable 1... and 2 sounds kind of overwhelming.

I'l wait for it to come out on PC.

Me, but I also was excited with the first one, and what I got was a 6 hours RPG, so don't know what to expect from Mr Molyneux XD

Uh? No, I said I ate 10 crunchy chicks (the bones make them crunchy, you know). You can't eat people - this ain't no zombie game, you know!

Anyone who completed it in 6 hours was playing it wrong - you missed the whole point of the game which is to explore and do side quests. You *can* complete it, but you'll gain very little enjoyment if you skipped on chicken kickin', finding buried treasure for ghost pirates, flirting and 'going to bed with your wife', getting the schoolteacher to read 'unsuitable' books to the kids, flirting with all and sundry, beating the living crap out of zombies, unlocking the demon doors, stealing stuff, getting drunk, getting everyone else drunk, getting into the fight club, etc. etc. etc. To be honest, the main quests were the dull bit of the game, in my opinion. Oh, and you grew old way too quickly.

I'm really excited too, loved playing Fable 1 and haven't seen much of Fable 2 yet, but feel it's gonna be pretty damn good.

All the stuff you can do is amazing, I remember that in Fable 1 my character had 2 wives and the gay school teacher was in love with him

It was fun to take the kids to the sacrifice temple in the woods

It would be good they added more functionality to the houses, besides just being able to decorate them.

I'll definitively have to fix my 360 before the game comes out. Also eager to get Fallout 3.
