It'd be awesome to have Sean back. Q, Twelve, Necro, Ibuki, Remy, Gill, Urien and Oro are awful though, and hopefully most of them will stay buried like they have been for so long.

I like Ibuki, She's fast and has some good throws that damage, as well as dodge. Remy had some good Supers But that Emo bitch act he had has to go. Necro was pretty much Dhalsim meets Blanka hard to hate on that. The Rest can't argue with you there. Gill Urien and more recently Seth all remind me of World Heroes characters. Gee Gus and Dio.

I would like to know what your beef with the characters are. Rather than "THEY SUCK they need to die"

    Twelve: terrible design (blob)
Q: terrible design (blob in a trenchcoat)
    Ibuki: boring design (ninjaaaaaawn)
    Necro: terrible design
    Remy: terrible design (Iori rip-off)
Oro: see all of the above
Urien: guess what? Terrible design (guy in underwear)
Gill: the same (guy in underwear...except with differently colored sides!!)

So your beef with them has NOTHING at all to do with how they play?

I think Ibuki as a character is a bit more than just a generic ninja. She's a Ninja yes, but she's a Ninja that doesn't really want to be a Ninja. Look at her 3rd strike ending or the conversation she has in arcade mode in SSFIV with Sakura.

Not really, although I don't like Q's or Twelve's movesets either. I guess it's irrational, but I dislike (as an example) Disgaea too because of the stupid anime child designs.

You like Sean though and he's just another dude in a Gi. BUT Sean is still pretty awesome.
I can't disagree with you on Twelve or Q they're wasted space and yeah I did mean Meele.

Sean is just more chill than the other Gi guys and his moveset is different too. His taunt alone makes him awesome, though.

Tournament Smash playing is about as interesting as watching paint dry in any case: no items and always playing on the same few boring stages. Way to suck everything that's fun and interesting out of the game.

I think we can agree Sean is awesome. How many SF Characters throw basketballs at you in a mini game? Plus, If Sean were to return, I think we'd love to see how he reacts to meeting Dan.

I find watching smash hard enough to do as it is. Friday I was watching one match, and the two people were purposely ringing themselves out. The FUCK?

3s is the best fighting game ever (yes better than 2 and 4) in my opinion and I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this on ASSEMbler. Loved everything about it from the basically all new characters, music, level design, how balanced it is (no infinities minus the one Urien can do in one version that was quickly patched)

Also its funny noting Sean is actually in the top tier in the first two additions of SF 3 but come to 3s he and Ikubi (who was also top tier) were de-powered.

I haven't been following the matches is Diago tearing it apart on 4>

    SF III forever.

Seeing people play harder to master characters is so fun.

Ken, Yun, and especially Chun and at least one tier above the rest. I still love watching high-level 3s. The mind games around parry are awesome.

    Agreed!

Every fighting game has tier classes when it comes to characters by balanced I meant there was none of this tricky that plagues a lot of SNK games and some Capcom games too.

Whats good about the tiers in 3s though it doesn't matter if you use someone like Twelve who's considered quite low I've seen people from Japan use him and tear good Ken players apart.

I love 3S. The balance, the mechanics, the art. It's all perfect.

It was too technical for most people though - the skill gap was huge. that's why it took something play-skool in comparison (SF4) to get the public gaming populous interested in SF again.

Makes me when when I think about how much of a divide between people that have loved fighting games forever and '09ers' on Shoryuken.com caused they had to remove peoples join dates from being visible.

Indeed, watching Kurodas Q humiliate Chuns and Yun so safisfying.

Marvel top 8 just finished. THE VERY DEFINITION OF HYPE.

How did this horrible miss use of Hype begin?

It annoys the hell out of me.

AND GO FIGURE Daigo is in the finals of SSFIV. He's the Joey Chestnut of EVO

Edit: Oh he was in the losers bracket

I've often wondered if SFIII would've been more popular with the general population if it had the cast from SFII...but then again, it came out during the THREE DEE craze when 2D fighters were bashed by the public and even in reviews simply for being 2D.

I would definitely say, "Yes," 7Force. Although I do think SFIII is a great game, my least favorite aspect of it is the roster.

Also, I edited an hour later to add this. Been thinking that SF4 is the first 2D fighting game that uses 3D models & looks truly great. I am a giant fan of sprite work and seeing things like all the Street Fighters until 3 was always a treat. SF4 though really nailed that distinct art style of kinda cell shaded look that fits so well with the great animations that play out to quick - slower action.
The new characters are well made & interesting. I love Juri, Rufus, Hakan, C. Viper. They are all very reminiscent of what makes Street Fighter of the old unique, and capitalized way better than the new characters in SFIII did.

The more I thought about it the last 3 months I came back to SF4 after a long stint, I realized it is my favorite in the series. It is solid, & I disagree with Henners that it went to an easier state compared to 3rd Strike. The change up in tactics needed to handle SF4 is a bigger jump after 3, & in a sense, the slightly slower game play that you deem "play-skool" creates a higher sense of tension, where you need to rely on character knowledge with a higher tendency on what moves to unleash when & where to oppose the other character efficiently. If you make a big enough mistake, you pay the penalty when fighting a knowledgeable opponent.

Any SF player couldn't deny missing the Parry ability, however. They are solid on their own terms, but SF4 is just too damn good.

Remember Ken and Ryu were only added because people were pissed. I would love to see the SF II cast done in the style of 3's sprites. I the Gill/Bison War should have happened.
