Battle Fanstasia by Arc Sys beat it to it (even supposedly inspired the approach to 3D models on a 2D plane that SF4 would would employ) and even before than you had the Rumble Fish series by Dimps. Both look impressive in their own right. You can't be serious!? Elena, Necro, Makoto, Yun/Yang, DUDLEY, ALEX??? Nothing!?
I was drunk when I wrote that so I was bound to not mention everything. While you mention some great characters that were new to the SF series in 3, SF4 just did better in that department. Every new character in SF4 is solid while SF3 had a lot of forgettable ones. I thought Alex was introduced in an alpha title? Either way, Dudley, Yun/Yang, Makoto, & Elena were the only all around solid new comers. Sean was cool, but obvious, & Ibuki is the same. Not to mention the fact that SF4 has the best roster of any SF game, including all of SF2, good characters from SF3 & the alphas, etc.
Well what do you expect when much of the entire cast is new in III, while 4's entire roster is only composed of a mere fraction of new characters. Are still under the influence of alcohol? Alex was introduced as the new protagonist (above even Ryu) to spearhead the "New Generation" of Fighters representing SFIII.
I have no expectations at all. The fact that SF3 had a slightly larger roster of new characters compared to 4 doesn't change my opinion that SF4's new characters are more solid, it is a pointless assessment. & No, I guess I just don't really give a shit since I didn't use him all that much. Just more proof that SF3 left such a lame impression on me regarding characters.
Slightly!? Look again. 15 to 7 is anything but. Obviously. Is that so? more like proof that you haven't spend much time at all outside of SF4. But hey, to each his own.
You defensiveness over my opinion on what Street Fighter is better is really pathetic. I am glad that you think just because I stated that SF4 is better & its new characters are more fleshed out than those in Third Strike that that would be proof of me not spending much time outside of SF4. You really aren't embarrassed to say something so asinine? Sorry that I think one is better over the other, and that it doesn't reflect what you feel on the matter. Not really.
What did you see? Proof you don't spend much time off of SF3. Talk like this is average on ASSEMbler Forums. If you say something stupid as a reply to me, I point it out. Also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6RKvCNEB3s Sickness.
Not at all. Yes I play SF III. But I also play the likes of Alpha 2, II Dash Turbo, CV2 on a daily not to mention healthy doses of stable SNK fighters and some Tekken. And exactly what kinda talk passes for above average to the likes of YOU then? Making incorrect statements only to simply blame it on alcohol? Funny you should mention, pointing out stupid replies...
What incorrect statement did I make that I blamed on alcohol? I am pointing out that just because the new characters from 4 left a bigger impression on me means to you that that is proof that I don't spend much time out of SF4, which is an actual stupid thing to say. I never said your reply was stupid because you prefer SF3 over SF4 in the character aspect. On the other hand you are now saying that my replies are stupid just because I expressed the opinion that SF4 is better, which I expressed while drunk and sober. Replies aren't stupid because their opinions might differ from yours. They are stupid when what you are saying is fucking bonkers, like the fact that SF4 is better to me must mean I didn't give the other ones enough of a chance. Well I did, & 4 wins.
Another thing I love about 3s is the japanese commentary. I dont understand a word, but they get hype as hell, especially Nuki: Great gameplay, and something nice for all the Sean fans at the end. For more subscribe to TheShend on youtube.
New Character WILL NOT be Alex as the "leaked" Image would suggest. From http://evilgeniuses.gg/capcom-details-sfiv-update-a-whole-new-game/ angstygaijin: So back to new SSFIV, can you provide any hints as to who this new character may be? Have we seen this character before, even if it happened to be outside of the Street Fighter franchise? Matt Dahlgren: You have not seen this character played in any Street Fighter game before. So whether or not it’s a character from that universe or not I can’t say at this time, but I can say for certain that you have never seen this character played in the franchise before.
