There are quite a few out there, but as with everything they cost money. But big name Nintendo (1st or 2nd party) stuff is difficult regardless of the platform because they don't seem to send things out quite as often. And as with this case, even if things happen to find their way into a collector's grasp (ie. mine here hah), companies like Microsoft who now own the properties are always willing to step in to prevent fundraisers (ie. mine here) from getting the money they paid, leading to less prototypes being released :p

Also so many private collector's who love being the only person in the world with the said game and even to the extreme of not wanting anyone to know that the prototype exists.
I don't blame anyone for not releasing their prototypes, I myself have spent close to $30,000 on my collection so I'm not too willing to give them away but if collector's would release info on them and maybe screenshots or videos showing any differences spotted would be really cool. A running list of known prototypes like on nesworld but more informed and people who own the prototypes can add any info would be amazing.

Definitely agree. I completely understand why you'd want to keep the prototype to yourself after spending so much money, but for the sake of preservation and history, I think private collectors should at least record and release information. Whether they do it anonymously or not is up to them, but I hate the thought that some prototypes could be lost forever and totally undocumented. Of course that does require a lot of effort on the part of the owner, so I can also understand why they wouldn't want to go to the effort =P
