I need to sit down and vectorize the 3d background hah, I didn't expect so many people to like that one. I thought it would just be me :p

Only if he's printing it in flex / flock.... although it's good to draw in vector to start with. We need to know the requirements of the printer, really. If it's digital printing, you're probably looking at a PNG file, at least 200dpi, probably around 10 - 15 inches square and be careful not to make lines including text) too thin.

Vector printing is usually far more picky. Lines and gaps should probably be 2mm or larger, don't use gradients, convert text to curves, probably stick to 3 colours and use an EPS file... something like that.

Right, but the image I was using is really low quality, that is all. I grabbed it from the web to see if the concept would work like I wanted it to. It is really pixilated if it was any reasonable size :)

The best designs in this thread are fine, but bland in my opinion. Personally I would make a design that shows off the site's very unique subjects. Some ideas I have would be using art only seen on proto or dev hardware, but being creative with them rather than just stamping them on. The big chrome X or Nintendo's dolphins come to mind. "Assembler: Gaming Revolution (using the Wii's initial logo) would be great if the Revolution logo didn't look so plain. Zero art skills stop me from participating.

The problem with that is that all the stuff on the dev kits is copyrighted.

I wonder if they're all still under copyright, and even if they are, we could modify them a bit no? How do others get away with selling shirts with their fan art on them?

Of course they are still copyrighted.

Most shirts are licensed. An artistic interpretation is sometimes acceptable, but you have to think about fonts even when you're selling something.

Most printers say they care, but in effect it's up to you to submit stuff that you're entitled to print.

To be fair, unless someone tries plastering it with Mario and Sonic, I doubt we would have anything anybody would care about on it, anyway!

Tried something a bit different, not really a "design". I just used a T-shirt creator on the internet.

Instead of just a logo, i tried to mimic those & & & Tshirts (like THESE), with less "&'s".
Then a smaller logo underneath. Color of the shirt i used is navy blue.

Anyway, just tried something different as i don't have photoshop right now.

They're all looking pretty solid. Can't wait to see which one we end up with!

I like the simple designs, I'd buy a blue T-Shirt with a red logo for sure.

I like this idea, maybe some silhouettes of consoles/peripherals, or designs inspired by things like the XNA wave, etc.

I like it, but the Katakana idea is also great! Maybe a combination of both? Assembler above and "home of obscure" in Katakana?
