I'm doing a Japanesey design - tried home of obscure in Japanese. Not sure I translated it correctly, though - so I abandoned that! ;-)
Silhouttes could work too as long as you don't pick what is essentially a black box such as an NDEV. Really want to see someone try to use that XNA art.
One of the things that would help is if someone with the XNA sidecar would take a high quality, straight on image. I found a partial image which is good but not great.
My artistic skills are horrendous but someone needs to show the GC some love. Maybe a GC intro style logo but using AG colours and the text ASSEMBLERGAMES.COM (there are 18 tiles/cube sides to the GC logo matches the letter quantities).
No, already found that. It was taken at an angle, and is terribly low quality. There is a logo image out there but it only has about half of the squiggles.
Just a straight, well lit image of the squiggles hah. No added shadows. Its still not going to be easy for me, havent messed with the pen tool in a while, but Ill be able to get something without it if the source is high resolution enough
Ok gimmie like 15 min Edit: The Blue Chrome is too reflexive this was the best I could manage. W.o flash it was even worse. It reflexs everything.
Well, it's late and I'm falling asleep on my computer.... so for now, here's my progress. It's not really going in the direction I wanted. I'm not too sure about the consoles, and the background was just something Japanesey as an example... but yeah. Can anyone correct the Japanese, by the way? Here's the English strapline:
My 2 cents: the logo looks neat, but (I don't know if its just me) it looks like a logo for ice cream or a dessert lol. It has almost the same colors as Klondike Kandy Bars branding. I dig the top design, but it has flaws. The NPDP is kind of awkward looking , and I think most people would prefer something that looks cool. Replacing the NPDP with the PS2 Tool would solve that, but it should say "TOOL" on its side so people don't ask you why the PS2 is so fat. edit:Or get rid of the Tool entirely and use something else as some might think you are making fun of the PS2.
Borman I think we're getting close. I think we need some super geeky shirts and some "cool" ones. I like the designs so far.
When I see that GC dev kit, all I can think of is this (which is, admittedly, pretty obscure). And I did look it up, so I do know that's what a dev GC looks like (at least one of them). I just don't research dev kits that much.
