BC has been somewhat of a holy grail for me. It was one of the games that sold me an Xbox early on. And so I waited. And waited. Only for it to be canned in 2004. The dreams of dinosaurs on the Xbox died along with it. We've seen a bit of a revival lately with games like ARK: Survival Evolved, but nothing had ever captured my interest like BC. Being that I like to track down unreleased titles, this game was always at the top of my list. I've tracked down things like Kameo on the original Xbox, along with many other high profile titles, but this one had eluded me until recently. I had to split things into multiple videos. This first video (with the new content starting around 7 minutes in, although if you want a history of the game start at the beginning) covers what the media was shown in 2002. First at e3, and later at X02. Video: Part 2: It is nice to finally have something beyond the 240p or less video that has been kicking around since the early 2000's. It is rough around the edges for sure, which is why it was kept behind closed doors for most of its life, but man, the potential is just crazy. I'm curious did you find this on a DVT3 or 4? Cause I know that's how you found that "Worlds Scariest Police Chases 2" game.
It's a bit more complicated in this case. But since the game is post August-2001, it will nearly always be DVT4 hardware compatible.
That's really interesting. I would really like to check it out. Are you able/willing to send me the files?
well WHO KNOWS..... perhaps it he may find it in his heart to share this i know alot of people would like to try it.... ive already did some FREE sharing and given the date of the build i dont see any issues on giving everyone a chance to enjoy this
Remember, money plays a role in this... That and potential action by companies. If a large sum was paid for it, a release for free would be really damaging.
Congratulations with finding your holy grail, amazed with both the footage and the fact that you've actually obtained them great job!
If you had to pay for it Borman and don't want to send me the files that's cool. I just thought I would ask. And PixelButts I doubt any company would care about there non complete probably alpha version of a game being out there. Its been like 13 years.
Seriously? If I have it in my heart to share it? Ive literally shared dozens of things over the years, some with my name on it, some not, many of them for free. I just released two builds for cart games in the past month to my Patreon supporters that will be released here for free. While it is awesome that you release two things, using that to try and hold it over me is just about the last thing that makes sense. This has nothing to do with money, as I've paid exactly $0 for the chance to cover this, nor does it have anything to do with my heart. The game can't be shared due to agreements that I made to have the chance to even cover the game. It was likely only shown to a select group of the press. I have Microsoft lawyers contact me for older stuff, so yes, they care.
Man ignore The New, we all know you share stuff with us all the time. And everyone is greatful for it And I didn't know Microsoft cared about something that old. Kind of sucks they would even consider taking legal action over something they will probably never make money on. Oh and congrats on finding the game
Good stuff, Peter actually replied to me and said LH/MS owned B.C. now and to contact them with questions. My favorite part of collecting is the hunt/search for the item, how did you come across the game? That's the part of the story I'd love to hear.
Congratulations on recovering builds for one of your most desired games!! I'm very happy for you. And thanks for taking the time to share information and video with all of us.
Microsoft cares. Trust me. And if they don't care enough to reach out to you, they have it written down for later. And again, great work Borman can't wait got part 2
