As I promised, something nice http://www.hidden-palace.org/?updates/c/31 Baldur's Gate for the PSX, for free, as an xmas present from Santa (you can read a message from Santa which explains some things a bit further, if you follow the link, I don't want to clutter up the board by copy/pasting). Happy holidays!
Carnivol posted a nice write-up on LostLevels: http://forums.lostlevels.org/viewtopic.php?t=2218 with a bunch of screenshots (sorry to make you jump through various links, hehe)
A great big thanks to the secret Santa. I won't be bothering with this myself since I don't own a PSX but 'm sure many out there will be made up with this release.
Oh wow who the hell wants to play an RPG game such as Baldur's Gate on the PSX?That's impossible! Thanks drx for this great find! I imagine there will be a fest of loading right?
I've played worse  Plenty! Pretty much anything that involves a "screen" change = LOADING. I guess the controls are harder to get used to than the loading.
I have it always known it really gives Santa Claus thank you for release. now the holidays are saved
This release is awesome.I tried it on real hardware and I think it's a really challenging games. You can barely make out where you can go in(houses, areas)!!! But yeah hardware limitations. This seems like a perfect port of the PC version which is one of the best CRPGs ever btw. I just can't imagine anyone playing this on real hardware and actually beating it.Kinda like Half Life Dreamcast with its loading times.
Not good to say if it was because of the coming release of the PS2 that killed the game, the amount of random loading (rendering it rather annoying to play at times), some random funding issue or something else that just resulted in it getting the plug pulled on it.
This is absolutely amazing! Thank you very much! I remember a few years ago someone asking 10,000 dollars for this game. That was just insane. I would pay that (if I had the money, of course) for Saturn ShenMue, though. :love2:
How is that interesting? Its someone saying that 1.5 would make a nice gift, just like plenty of us have said
