thanks for the heads up! can anyone verify the MD5 of the patched rom? is it C02AD68B60E2EC824222A2074C3CDB1C ?
I followed the instructions in post #9, and I can confirm that Banjo Tooie now runs on my PAL N64. Of course, to play it on a PAL N64 your TV has to support NTSC mode, since the hack is only for the NTSC version of the game, but most PAL TVs (at least in England) do nowadays, mine does, thankfully. Thanks to everyone concerned, this is a great (early) Christmas present!
just patched the rom can anyone recomend a tool to check the md5 so i can verify it patched properly?
It doesn't work on my ED64 version 1, OS v1.28, firmware v1.15, equipped with CIC-7101, no Expansion Pak. After the scroller the screen becomes black and stays like that. Other games work fine, including the cracked version of Jet Force Gemini. I tried various save state options available in the ED64 GUI. I tried deleting the save files on my SDHC card and using the ones produced by emulators. The MD5 of my rom is correct. My TV supports NTSC. Could anyone confirm that the cracked rom works on their ED64 version 1 with latest OS and firmware?
works fine on my pal n64 and ur tv doesnt need to support ntsc because pal consoles dont output ntsc signal even when a ntsc game is being played.
OK, if, like me, you can only see a black screen after the dextrose intro, the cause is that the hacked rom, unlike the original game, relies on the Expansion Pak and does not work without it.
I really hate patches. I always seem to have so much trouble with that stuff. I tried to follow the guide in post #9 but everytime I try to start up I get and error message that says: Run time error 339 and says that the file ccrpbd.ocx doesn't exist or is invalid though it's right there in the same folder. I really don't get how simple patching of roms work. I have tried to get an understanding of it many times but for some reason I find it very complicated.
