I solved that issue by setting the Compatibilty mode to WinXP. Hope that works for you, too. marry Christmas, saturnu
Cpt N: That's not a problem with the patch you're running into, but with the patching tool. IMHO, instead of following saturnu's suggestion, the better way would be to try a different one. Simple natural selection: If an applications sucks, once enough people switch away from it, it dies (eventually), improving the overall quality of the software ecosystem as a whole.
It somewhat worked. The program is able to start up now and it also seems to have patched the rom but it said something about APS did not match or something before it patched. I'll have to check if it actually worked later. Thanks for the advice at least
I got this patched and working on my ntsc/us N64 on my ED64 V2 and latest OS. However, I just got hold of a ntsc/Jap N64 (RGB modded) with a AMP (Scart Cable), yet the rom wont boot on this console. I get as far as the "Dextrose" intro, yet once I press "start" it ends up on a black screen. Any ideas to why this wont work on the Jap N64? Update: Just seen the post on the 2nd page about the expansion pak needed for the hacked rom. It did not cross my mind to use it, since the original cart boots without one. Transferred the expansion pak over to the Jap console and it now works.
I would like to confirm: is the aps filedx-btusc.aps? And the patch only works on a Banjo-Tooie (U)[!].z64 instead of Banjo-Tooie.n64? Thanks!
If the checksums of Banjo-Tooie (U)[!].z64 and Banjo-Tooie.n64 match then you're good to go. Otherwise it'll only work on the version specified.
Ah okay. Thanks! I tried using .n64 version on the WINAPS program but it wouldn't detect it. Also, is the .aps file used the dx-btusc.aps one?
Hi guys I try patching this rom but when loading it I keep getting a black screen can someone give me a link to a working patch rom of this game to download or point me in the right way to get it thank
I patched the ROM but don't know if it's working or not since my ED64 is away getting repaired... You shouldn't need to do any patching now if you have OS 1.29. It auto-patches the ROM upon loading it. With that said, here is the ROM I patched. I hope it works... Also, here is the original file. You know, just in case...
Except that the same crack probably works on those other devices too. A DrV64jr could run it with a 6105 boot cartridge and the right save type (Perfect Dark or Donkey Kong 64). I think two games needed the CD64's Protected Cartridge Decoder to get the right combination without buying the particular game, but not this one.
It doesn't work. Tried on 64Drive and black screen . Whoever has this working on 64Drive can do a guide please?
Does this work on the JP version? Anyone know if this will help solve the random crashes on emulators? I've been trying forever to find a program that patches APS. Why they chose such a format that you never see is beyond me, I can't get anything to work with it. Lunar IPS doesn't want to accept it, there's this program I spent forever trying to find called A-Ptch that won't even let me load n64 ROMs, and the program included with that archive a few posts back doesn't work on my laptop. I swear it's never easy, it and it just drives you nuts :x I see the download above, but as I said, I'm trying to put this on the JP version.
Folder with the patch for US NTSC: http://www.mediafire.com/?3bduzsn6adbapri For a patcher (which isn't mine): http://www.mediafire.com/?q60cbo6ckj6crkk Back in the day they devised this patch format to avoid the IPS address ceiling and as a workaround for file byteswapping. It has primitive file confirmation built in. I personally prefer bps or xdelta on account of the whole delta-patching thing, and using APS nowadays is more like a political statement.
Can someone point me to a .aps patcher that will work for Windows 7/ I tried setting WinAPs to XP mode as the screenshot but I still get the ccrpbd.ocx missign or not registered. Thanks.
Thanks. I think something is weird with my Z64 ro the patch is not working since I tried both ucon64 and Winaps and I keep getting a black screen.
