There are lots of DOSBox frontends for nearly every operating system. Just check out the official DOSBox download page: http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1 I've only used Boxer, which is for OS X, but I assume they're all pretty similar. In Boxer, you just load the CD or disk image and it automatically installs the game/software and sets everything up for you. It has an interface that links directly to the game/software you want to run, so you don't have to manually navigate to it in command-line mode.
That sounds pretty good. No need for messing about. by the way, I'll upload the 60fps version of the Double Dragon BOTP tonight after dinner. Expect it up in about 5 hours or so.
Awesome! I'll keep an eye out for it. By the way, I might be wrong about the details of how those DOSBox frontends work (it's been a while since I've used one), but at any rate it's pretty easy. You might have to try a couple of them to find one that you like.
Just a heads up to let everyone know that the 60fps version of Double Dragon BOTP is now up for download. I also noticedthat the link to Final Fight BOTP was down so that has also been fixed - http://www.segagagadomain.com/botp/botp-menu1.htm
Good episode. I was wondering - why the Game Boy version so narrow? Is that how the game is actually displayed, or did it just get resized for some reason? Similarly with the Atari 2600 version - the sound was absolutely horrible, did it really sound like that?
The GB version is like that way due to emulation. I really should have used the SFC and Super GameBoy. Next time that narrow image shouldn't be an issue. The Atari version does actually sound like that. Awful I know but then again it is an Atari so we can't expect much. At least it had music unlike some other versions. The MSX version is funny I think.
Another great episode - I didn't mind the C64 port to be honest, but that's probably because it was the only one we got to play at home! Was interesting hearing the FM version of the Master System port too!
The master System port was actually running 15% too slow because it was in PAL mode. The audio and game should be the same speed as the FC / NES version.
Just watched the Double Dragon episode, another great video! I'm really happy you include Spectrum versions in your videos cos I used to have that back in the day... brings back memories.
So Yakumo - any word on when the 60fps version will get uploaded? Really looking forward to checking it out in super high quality!
This week it will be up. I have to give a 2 week window between the YouTube and my site uploads because of the affiliation program I'm part of on YouTube. I'll post a link here once it's ready
Ah, gotcha - I remember you mentioning there's a delay because of your YouTube posts, but only thought it was 1 week not 2! Sorry mate, will keep an eye on the thread later this week!
Awesome. I'll be looking out for it. By the way, if you need any help with the webpage - if you're too busy or whatever - I'd be happy to help. I'm not a master of html by any stretch, but I know enough.
The 60fps download is now ready for all with a fast PC to enjoy! Actually, your XBOX can play the 60fps version and if that can then I guess a PS3 could too 60fps on the big screen is lovely. http://www.segagagadomain.com/botp/botp-menu1.htm
