Beta Debug XBOX

Ah, the good old "holy grails".
iirc, these kits were supposed to be returned to MS after the testing phase, though you got to keep the orange-translucent memory card, right? Friend of mine also kept the beta discs, but they were essentially worthless back then becausse they didn't work in a normal box. He didn't have access to Lamborghini though, seems that one was only out in very very limited numbers, probably only in the UK too.

A real shame for everyone who played the demo back then (like me ^^ )

Still got the memcard floating around, also had ReVolt, but sold it to somebody on this board five years ago.

 

I've got the disc with ReVolt myself but it attempts to force you to log into your Live account before you can do anything interesting. My hacking skills are subpar as well.

Been after that shiny memory card for a while though.

 

oh it's nothing special. Even lower capacity than the retail memcards, but something useful to fill up a controller slot ^^ And the color is kinda cool.
Iirc, there was also a disc pouch with the Xbox Live logo and a special version of the headset with some kits.

 

The public Xbox Live tester kit is different than this debug box obviously.

 

I knew a guy who was accepted into the public Live beta, probably because he was an Earthlink employee at the time and had access to some nice internet pipes for the time.

Retail XBox, got sent the orange memory card, a special headset and the v1.1 disc containing Re-Volt like I have. Very different setup from this debug for sure.

I'm just a whore for XBox stuff, my particular love next to the Dreamcast.

 

Sorry to bump an old thread, however I registered after finding this post.

A few years ago I purchased a pal UK beta live console with all games and documentation, I believe I have the kit you are referring to. I was searching Google to find more info on it and found this thread. I have the console that's identical to the pictures here, including stickers etc. The disc case , memory card, headset, all the games including Lamborghini and all documentation letters. I'll take some pictures and post them up as I'd be interested to see if it has any value. I am aware it's rare however there is very little info and my only hope is here, oldengineer I've heard of you and seen your now gone site, can you or anyone help me out.

 

They are worth quite a bit, I know I would be interested in the paperwork and a handful of the games. Ive got two PAL systems and 4 of the games, I think the lowend I paid was around 175 system with a game.

 

How pic heavy can I make a post?
I've taken loads

Also the discs and docs have codes and serials etc , is it worth blanking them all out or are the disc printed codes generic.

 

I try to limit it to a handful per post, keeps the page loading quickly. Can always link to an imgur album though

I wouldnt worry about the codes and such on them, Ive posted pictures of my disks without issue.

Thanks Borman, thats the exact code on my disc, so I have only blanked out serial numbers etc on the console itself. Pics are uploading now, thanks for the help.
