On thing to note If you look at all the post bad feedback was not given until later in the day. Here is how the whole thing went to negative feedback.

    won auction
    paid for auction
email(lingr) can not ship out of HK
email (macwest) please refund my money than gave pay pal id#
    waited
email2(macwest) Please refund my money or I will let the assembler board know about this
    Received item strike by Lingr
started board discussion, this way if all is resolved we are in control and can edit board
applied to have item strike removed
    applied for pay pal refund
    board discusion going
Lingr responded to item strike saying it was my fault (strike to stay by ebay) at this point he is obviously on the internet and has access to email and should have seen pay pal request for refund
    board discusion
email (macwest) explaind how item strike not fair and I should get a refund
    no response
    left neg feedback

It was not till real late last night my money was refunded.

Ricky, are you trying to say that Lingjr has tried to cheat people before? That sucks if this isn't the first time he's done something like this.

Yeah, that was pretty crappy behavior on Lingjr's part as well. No reputable seller would even THINK of filing a NPB report with eBay within a day of the auction close. If there was any problem at all Lingjr should have taken the time to send Macwest an email. Instead he just goes to eBay and falsely files a NPB.

Some of you people need to learn how to use the damn edit button. I'm not going to name any names, macwest and Benedict_Arnold, but it really comes in handy when you need to make a quick edit so you don't clutter the page with double and triple posts. -_-

You still dont seem to understand that while he **might** of been wrong you still dont
get that leaving bad feedback or expecting things to be sorted out on your timeline isnt fair.

Some people are busy at times and should be given a reasonable amount of time to sort things out.

I personaly dont pay sellers till ive taked to them.

  13. And I usually pay as soon as the bidding ends. Time of payment shouldn't matter, in fact the sooner the better for the seller. I bet macwest would still have gotten negative feedback even if he waited to pay.

I've dealt with Barry Ling, he seems a nice enough guy. I received my item no problem - so I am surprised he won't ship internationally, as this was a BIG item I'm talking about!!

The correct procedure in this instance is that the seller issues a refund via PayPal. So, Hi_Ricky, as much as I like Barry and think he's a nice, honest guy, in this case he is in the wrong - HE should be issuing the refund. If the buyer has to claim a refund, PayPal may well claim commission on the refund.

If he puts things in his auction saying he will ship internationally, then he has to rectify his own mistakes, not wash his hands of it. Passing the buck isn't on.

Despite the pigeon English, I think that is clear. To be honest, if he wanted to sell to Hong Kong only, he should have:

    1. Listed the item on eBay HK in his native language, NOT English
    2. Removed the parts which say International Bidders accepted
    3. CLEARLY stated in the auction description no foreign bidders on this.

If you are going to list something in English, you really do have to have an excellent command of the language. Barry Ling has a lot of nice stuff, and sells a lot of nice stuff at nice prices (for him). That, in my mind, makes him a trader. A trader needs to talk the language of his target market WELL. I wouldn't dream of trying to place an item on Yahoo Japan - my Japanese is shocking! eBay Germany, maybe, or France.

On the same note why in even a shorter time did he turn me in as a NPB? I did not leave bad feedback till after that. Give me a break. My bad feedback was justified with the rules he had set by turing me in as a NPB.

On most transactions you would be correct try to talk it out first and give it some time. in this case you are wrong. LINGR set the rules by turning in a auction as a NPB even though I had paid him and it was just a few hours after auction ended

Oh and do I feel bad on the feedback NO. He still has not removed the item strike and that is alot worse than bad feedback.

I'm surprise for someone who obviously sell a lot of expensive(?) stuff on eBay you got treated this way...
I wonder IF the price was $5000 whether he'd done the same???

I still think just misreading(?) description doesn't warrant for NPB strike without any courtesy warning...
If I'm going to leave the NPB strike I'd advise the buyer that and give 24 hours to respond before file away...

on the same token I'm sure about 99.99% of eBay buyers would do the exactly the same as macwest done if after paying for but given NPB strike without any warning nor communication in return...

Now that you got your money back, turn his ass in to Sony anyways. The guy makes it clear that he ships worldwide.
