Biggest shitstorm in gaming ever?

Fuck this is getting out of control, for those who don't know google "5 guys burgers zoe" and you'll get an idea

Personally I never seen a gaming story being censored this much, ever. Every popular blog out there is just not fucking talking about it and some sites the did got treats, in one case from their hosts provider which gave up to twitter pressure.

IMHO the real shit here is not the personal situation of the people involved but what it says about the industry, ie: it practically proves what many gamers have been thinking for years and that is the entire sector even the indies are a bunch of "you scratch my back I scratch yours" sellouts who trade one favor for another and have no integrity.

That's the only explanation I have, there have been misogyny cases before even worst than this that got plenty of coverage but in this case where there are prominent members of the press and event organizers involved everything its being deleted.

 

What is this thread about? What is zoe? The.Konami game? I have no idea what I'm reading. Can someone shed some light?

edit: Read some more on the topic, and I think it's been blown out of proportion. Claiming ALL of the journalists and developers of being crooks is retarded (there are at least hundreds of journalists out there). Kotaku is shit even out of this fiasco, their site is full of spam passed as news. Too much clickbait.

Zoe does not represent all women nor all indie devs. She is an individual and, as such, should be held accountable for her actions.

basically she made a big stink about a project to encourage positive viewpoints about women making games then slept with a bunch of guys to get "in" with them, im pretty sure that's hypocritical considering she was complaining about the project as being sexist when she basically just slept her way to getting news stories about her game.....thus ruining the perception of female developers all over

idk people will take it as they see, but i guarantee the shit storm from this will make reviewers and publishers think twice about taking on/reviewing games from female indie dev's just in case its another one of these where the woman has slept with everyone else along the way and even if you did just give them a chance, it might come back to bite you on the arse and make you look guilty by association.

Pretty douche move, especially combined with other factors that she's attempted to use to promote her game which I have found to be in further bad taste (aside from the game, also already being in bad taste from having the majority of my own family and my husband's family suffering from depression).

It only takes one bad egg of either gender to start doing shit like this, that stuff gets particularly out of hand. The general perspective regarding females' within the industry was already quite sexist and fairly shitty to begin with but this is only going to make it so much worse. Even if this wasn't just the gaming industry, this type of behavior really does piss me off as it's rather low and given her past stuff.... What an utter hypocrite.

 

Ahhhhh so if this were to be a TV series, it would be called Two and a Half: Games?

Honestly, who gives a flying fuck? Overall gaming articles are full of bullshit, everyone jumps up and down over small things. She slept her way to success, (if you can call it success that is).

Kotaku is a toxic game "journalist" site, they create articles without doing much research, can't stand the fucking site anyway.

 

tbh i have to say that basically all this is exactly waht she wanted, people like that are attention whores.....doesn't matter if its good or bad she will be lapping it up and playing the "oooooh im such a poor needy victim.....come on guys protect this poor vulnerable damsel in distress" act

what would be better is if her and her "game" was being censored, basically the big hype is only giving her, her own way....just my opinion

 

It basically comes down to a complete lack of journalistic integrity and the extremes of the third/tumblr wave feminist bullcrap in gaming.

For anyone that went TLDR:
-practically unknown girl makes game about depression
-Fails greenlight because not much people are intrested

-2 mean comments about her game are posted on a small imageboard she doesn't read, because they say she doesn't understand depresion (And if you read what is generally posted on that board you can understand why)
-Girl goes on quest to be the worlds biggest victim of "harassment" (yet forgets that harassment needs to be directly pointed at her to qualify as that)

-Claims their is a raid against her (without any evidence). And claims she get calls from said board of people ONLY masturbating (again without evidence, nor logic as you shouldn't be able to tell by the sound of masturbation what websites they visit)
-Gets all the tumblr feminist on her side (because anything negative said against a women equals rape, also lack of basic research skills)

-Most of the modern tumblr feminist are also "journalists", "the indie in crowd" or have friends that are that.
-She gets massive amounts of attention.

-Tries greenlight again and now passes because she has massive amounts of followers because she is/was "getting harassed". (But all the evidence she calls harassment now are people calling on her bullshit and those 2 comments.)
-People find out she sleeps around in the "indie in crowd" and game "journalist" circles. With at least 1 married men, while she herself is in a relationship.

-Projects are canceled/not reported on that try to show off that women can make good games, because said girl thinks it's "anti-women" and her "journalist" friends and "indie in crowd" won't talk about it because of it. Like this: http://www.thefineyoungcapitalists.com/Voting which makes for the winning game participants and give 8% of the profit to the winning women and everything else to charity. Which is a project specially made for the exact group supporting her because of her "harassment".
-Claims her personal affairs are completely separate from her professional affairs (she seem to think that there is some invisible force between the two)

In the end it shows that mainstream gaming journalism has no integrity left and that the tumblr feminist/indie in crowd supporting her are hypocrites at best

 

I don't care about this chick, I don't care if she was a nun or if she sucked every cock in frisco, what I DO care is that this story is being censored because it exposes the corruption not only in gaming press but in the entire industry.

Nobody censored the kane&lynvh story, while nearly everybody is censoring this.

Not commenting on the journalistic integrity stuff but reading this saga unfold (I am maybe 25% in) is definitely like trying to watch a shitty soap opera.

I can see now why couples or married families have open relationships, to avoid exactly this.
