Just remembered. Its called Bomberman: The second Attack. I think it follows after Bomberman 64 and not Bomberman Hero, but I could be wrong. It was released in the US and also got pretty bad reviews all around.

I dunno, I found them enjoyable. I played the old Bombermans and they were hard!

Well guys, I think I just found some art that solves the problem of Bomberman looking too kiddy for older gamers and too futurisitc for newer gamers. I present to you with this combo of realistic and original Bomberman. Enjoy

I'm sure the artist thought it was a good idea at the time...

Some image board. I have no idea where the author's site is, though.

Oddly enough. Actualy I think there is 4 bombermans for the n64 (not fully sure on this).

    Bomberman 64
    Bomberman 64: 2nd attack
Bomerman Arcade Edition <- not sure what this one is
    Bomberman Hero

If only there was ingame video to see how the new one plays out in realtime and not in screen shots. Either way i'm starting to like the new bomberman (it will never replace the old cutesie japanese bomberman) but i think my problem with this still over all is it should be called something else with the sub name bomberman.

I think Bomberman 64: The second attack came out after Bomberman Hero, but it might have been in Japan a long time before a US release.

To be honest, I kind of like his new look, but if you show anyone a pic and ask who it is, the last thing that comes to mind is Bomberman. The redesign has no trace of the original character...

Gameplay screen. Looks like they revamped the style, but kept the old gameplay.

I just thought they would go with an actiony style game, but it looks like they are going the old way.

Nice, maybe they could add some havok to make explosions more realistic...

This is a graphical experiment which may go horribly wrong.

It's supposed to become a first person bommer game, so I think you won't be playing like that, unless they were to include an 'original gameplay mode'.

Those icons to the left are, in fact, almost identical to the ones in Silent Bomber - which, as I'd said before, was like a "new" bomberman for the late 90s (not official, obviously).

But those icons indicate Movement Speed (?) Blast Strength and Total Bombs don't they?

As opposed to Silent Bombers Gravity, Naplam and Paralysis. I get what your saying with the same futuristic look/styling of them. I'd prefer to see a new silent bomber then a new bomberman though still.

Maybe somehow, in my wildest dreams, Jutah with all his ansty badassness would be in this.

I didn't know what they meant in Bomberman. The style is similar, though.

And you, sir, are completely and entirely right. I wish there were another Silent Bomber. Hell, just the title screen on the original was enough for the purchase to be worth it.
