i got all the stuff thats been posted in the 360 scene. i always wait for retail final versions, i only get pnet games if a game gets cancelled and only pnet verson exists. i think there may be one or two of these if memory serves right. i think one game is a double dragon 2 title. crimson dragon is an upcomming game and i ain't seen a pnet version posted as of yet.
i've had some pnet game versions in the past and then replaced them when a final version gets released as i'm not a great fan of pnet releases, bonk Brink of Extinction however would be awesome because it has been cancelled and beta version would be the next best thing :)

edit - i have a few months ago aquired a retail copy of the double dragon 2 game which at the time people were saying it would be doubtful that the game would see a retail release.

Not to derail the thread, but a retail version of Crimson Dragon was posted on regular Xbox Live five months ago. You could download it with a stock Xbox 360, no special tools needed.

If you don't even have all of the retail XBLA releases, what makes you so sure Bearkilla was mistaken about this?

not certain he was mistaken at all. just suggested he could be mistaken. i download all xbla games that get posted in the 360 scene to play on my jtag 360 and i have never seen crimson dragon or the bonk game posted. one possible reason for crimson dragon not being posted at the 360 site is if it's an online only xbla game. if not i don't know why it's not been posted tbh. says at the marketplace site it was released 29/03/2012 and it looks pretty good. one the main uploaders of xbla games at the site said on 12/03/2013 that crimson dragon ain't been released yet so i don't know whats going on with that one. i know for a fact that bonk or srimson dragon have never been posted at the site in question.

i'm sure your right about that. still saying everyone and his sister has the game suggests that the bonk beta was widespread and by widespread you would imagine that the game would have been posted within the 360 scene and not kept between an handful of private collectors. are you 100% sure crimson dragon was actually available at the marketplace and the release not held back or soemthing? the uploader at the scene who said it wernt released yet seems to know his stuff. i'm no expert tbh because i ain't online with xboxlive.

People with 360 stuff usually mean between their relatively large private group. Things get passed around, but don't necessarily get uploaded for general public to play.

i'm sure that is the case with some pnet releases and i aint a big beta fan anyway as opposed to retail finals. on the other hand retail xbla games seem to get uploaded as regular as clockwork. and if the bonk game is out there it's doubtful it's widespread as was previously suggested.

This. What Borman said x1000. If it's posted on a "scene" site for free download, it's not rare. And "scene" sites are hardly exhaustive lists of everything that's available. Anyone downloading it really didn't have to put in any work to track it down. There's a big difference between just downloading a file from a web site or torrent and doing the legwork to track down releases like Borman does or like leetwolf did with the PS3 version of Bonk.

There is a certain hubris in saying "I have all the things!" when chatting on a board with folks who specialized in collecting. It's safe to say that even if you indexed everything that's been shown off on this board, you haven't seen a fraction of what's in member collections.

Personally, I look forward to learning more about leetwolf's find. It'll be interesting to see how complete it is, etc.

As for Crimson Dragon, let's just say that "the uploader at the scene" who told butfluffy it was not released doesn't know his stuff quite as well as he seems to imply. A retail version of the game was available on Xbox Live the last week of 2012, about 4.5 months ago. No PNet required. No hacking required. No special tools required. The only hard part about getting it, is that it was available for a limited time so if you didn't grab it then, you need to get it from someone who already has it.

wonder why it was only available for a limited time? i agree that games posted in the scene are the widespread stuff. when i said i had all the releases i ment all the scene releases which i thought was all the retail xbla games at least. if bonk was widespread then i figured i would have it. of course there are rarities that don't get scene released. i have no desire or cant afford to spend money getting hold of dev consoles, prototype releases and such, it's always appreciated when fellow gamers acquire rare gems and release to gaming scenes. marketplace website says crimson dragon is a kinect game :( shame, i don't like kinect at all and didn't buy it. would download the game for collections sake nothing else.

yeah i had a reply when asking about this at the scene. reply said that the crimson dragon game was available at the japanese marketplace by mistake for a short period then taken down. reply said demo but i would imagine it was a beta build. it's no biggie this release not being uploaded, i would prefer to wait for the retail final anyway.
i remember something like this happening with doom 2. i had that game ages before the retail version but eventually the retail version was released.

I'm a fan of the Bonk games and it was sad to hear that the game was cancelled. Leetwolf, do you have any pictures of the game's disc? Thanks for sharing this with us.
