The Bonk games were called PC Genjin (rhymes with PC Engine haw haw haw) in Japan. Genjin means "prehistoric man".
thanks :smt023 i just remember some of the Bonk Games were called BC kid one on Amiga and if i remember right one was also called BC kid on SNES
Another baffling example of Agetec bringing over a great quirky Japanese game only to ruin it with horrendous box art as butt-ugly as JLO's ass:
The Master System in the west had some pretty awful covers. take a look at these. The art work may not be that bad but they are plain looking :smt043 Black Belt (Now that's a scarry foot :smt045 ) Double Dragon (Mean bad ass dudes) Marksman Shooting (Wow, top quality graphic art there :smt043 ) Space Harrier (Is that dragon on dope?) US Version of Sonic CD (Oh my God. What have they done? Not a patch on the Japanese and European covers shown below). European Version of Sonic CD Japanese Version of Sonic CD Yakumo
I always noticed the japanese versions of sonic for mega drive always seemed to have these covers that screamed some kind of party going on(im refering to the shapes they always put in the background of the cover shuch as the mulit colered triangles, squares, and such. Did they try to make sometype of image of sonic in japan with these designs.
i must agree that the Us box art cover of sonic cd is really ugly compared (and uncompared :smt043 ) with the european and japanesed version. i heard that every musics where changed in the american version , i heard that hey where really better in the original version. i don't know if its true (because i've never played sonic cd in any other versions than the american one) but i love those we have , i can't imagine something really better than this! :smt083
Those coloured shapes make the game look more fresh and sharp which is just what Sega wanted Sonic to appear as. The US versions and the European versions just didn't get that fresh image across from the box art. Nah, the US version of Sonic CD has bloody awful music compared to the Japanese and European versions. Yakumo
Nah, the US version of Sonic CD has bloody awful music compared to the Japanese and European versions. Yakumo[/quote] if i've loved the musics in the maerican sonic cd , i think i should try the real japanese version. i think i've saw a code that let you hear original musics on the maerican version, did i dreamt? they really look to have fun. :smt042
I'm sorry to say but you probably did... the music is (I think) CD-audio in separate tracks, and there's no space on the disc to put on another full set of tracks, and if there was I doubt Sega would bother. To make sure, put the game in your CD player and listen to tracks 2 and up
Strider for the NES. One word comes to mind when I see this box... Repulsive Strider for the Genesis, equally as bad as the NES box Uhhh... I hate this box so much.
This game is actually quite interesting. I was looking for a sealed copy, but they want to charge me 40 dollars for ir. No way, it's a bargain bin game.
I don't know who Richard Simmons is but from the looks of that boxart this might well be his favourite game:
ah, yes, the cho aniki series.... I have a link to that somewhere.... http://i-mockery.com/minimocks/sexual-games/10.php certain people might find it offensive.
I actually did say it was a great game. Can't believe how badly Agetec fucked the cover up....not only is it lame, you're in Tokyo and you're Japanese, not falling from a building and white.
