I believe in a week or just over we should have CPS3 fully emulated since looking at todays update everything is nearly done just got to get the sprites right and some bugs and all should be fine EDIT Sprites are up yay. Now all thats left is the release of the bios to play and the last few tweaks. One of the MAME devs has an announcement tonight at mid night Spain time

no cd versions of SFIII 3S are the ones I know about. never seen Warzard/Red Earth no cd version.

btw, I was wodering - if a simm is defective on a 3S board, where should one pick up a replacement? I'm trying to help a guy out who is in this predicament and says that he's tried other ram modules (not from 3s boards) and they haven't worked. anyone know the answer?

I wish they would stop with the WIP stuff, everytime they do the server goes down taking everything on mameworld with it. I wanted to look through MAWS yesterday. :crying:

What system are you running that on and what's the performance you get? Looks to be coming along well.

Just to let everyone know Mame 116u2 which is one of the many intermediate releases now includes the cps3 emulation including the recent sprite scaling that Haze showed off on his page. I believe this version requires the chds.

For anyone wanting to avoid mame command lines grab the newest Mame 32 build from their website: http://mame32qa.classicgaming.gamespy.com/

So far its running perfect minus a few crashes which the devs said would happen. My system is old its from 2002 with a Nvidia Mx 440 graphics card (Really old now), 512 ram and 1.67 GHz. Btw Gamesmaster I tried out the MAME+ version but its worse than the emulator I'm running them on?

New updates on nebula & Mame have the games looking fantastic now. Sprite Scaling & Palette issues are resolved. Mmmmm...

Wonder now that the grunt work is done, if digital eclipse is now going to swoop in and make a comercial cps3 emulator (i would not mind so much providing they go on Ps3's PSN service).

I tried out the public preview build of Nebula, it ran over 130fps constantly on my old system. There's still alot of graphical errors and crashes, but I was still impressed with the current level of functionality.

of course ram modules dont work!
the cps3 simms use flashroms and work totally different, he can consider himself lucky he didnt render his board useless when plugging in normal ram into the cps3.
there are no replacements, these are custom capcom parts.

apart from cps3, the simms were also used in some cps2 games such as
mighty pang or puzz loop 2.
however, they arent all the same.
there are prg-simms and gfx-simms which have a different pinout and databus-width.
your best bet would be to just buy a spare cps3 system and use simms from that one.

I've already got the new version and it's a vast improvement. I'm rather amazed how fast CPS3 emulation got to such a great level. Now if only there were more than 3 games...

    Erm you mean 6 games

    Warzard / Red Earth
    JoJos Venture
    JoJos Bizar Venture
    Street Fighter 3 : NG
    Street Fighter 3 : DI
    Street Fighter 3 : TS

Still disapointing capcom abandon the hw so fast. Yet really pretty much they went full naomi insted of supporting either cps2/3.

I consider it to be 3 games, Jojo, SF3, and Warzard. Now everyone can begin to complain and bitch about Naomi emulation. =)

1 dreamcast emu actualy had preliminary naomi emulation. yet they gave up (i think virtua striker 2k was the only running game).

Main things that must be stored out before mame team touches it is
    1. dimm security chips must be cracked
    2. given another 2-3 years since the system still had a game that came out last/this year.

This is coming along nicely, in fact I think I'll make a MAME cabinet instead of an HTPC with my soon-to-be-old system.

Will an Athlon 3200+ with a 6600GT run this and nebula at full speed? and what about using linux? or there are no versions of these emus yet?

Yes it'll run full speed. I get 130fps on my AMD Athlon 64 3200+ with a Radeon 7200 (that's from the year 2000). Yes I haven't upgraded my video card in 7 years. That means there's been 7 years without any PC game I found worth upgrading the video card for. I tried upgrading atleast twice. Once the card was defective and died instantly. Another I just sold it because I didn't notice much if any difference in Unreal Tournament 2003.

Anyway you shouldn't have any problems with Elsemi's CPS3 emulator. It's not actually part of Nebula the CPS1,CPS2,NeoGeo,PGM etc emulator. Atleast not yet.

If theres is ONE you have to play thats Homeworld2.

I'm not even on RTS games, but HW2 is just too cool not to play...

Anyway, what about the emu scene in Linux? cuz I was thinking a beryl GUI would be great for a cabinet.
