    HDLGameInstaller v0.802 OBT released!

    Changelog for v0.802:


    1. The compatibility mode flags were being set and loaded from the HDL compatibility mode flags field. Should have been the OPL flags.
    2. Changed the images from bitmaps to PNG images, to save space.
    3. Cleaned up ShowMessageBox().
    4. Added the German, Italian and Spanish localizations.
    5. Updated mini OPL/diskload to the latest version from Bitbucket, as of today's commit.

    It's now a scrapped feature. It's implementable, but due to weird problems that sometimes result from console modding, this feature was removed. It's also because it should be implemented in OPL actually, or we have to constantly modify the EE core in every update.

    Ideally, the logo's animation should be cloned and implemented in the loader's code. Then we will be totally free from using Sony code and hacks.

    is there a way to force the programm to a specific language? since it's als aways japanese on my SCPH-10000 due to PSBBN.

    What about renaming files language you want to use to strings_JA & labels_JA ?

    The SCPH-10000 can have its language setting set the English. Unless you're talking about using one of the other languages?

    But no, there's no way to choose a specific language.

    i never thought about the simple method of swapping the jap txt files thanks DaSA, lol. :highly_amused:.
    if you use PS-BBN you cant change the language of the console if its a japanese system, the language will be set to japanese automatic,
    if it dosent have japanese, it will be set to english.

    but now i have a different problem, one game secret agent clank, it was installed through network.
    it is around 3,9GB in size, but ule only shows it as 1024MB, PS-BBN ignores it completly(not shown at all), only HDD-OSD displays it correctly.

    Maybe i miss something, but i am not able to get higher than 0.6MB/s when installing over ethernet.
    Is this normal?

    I had similar problems my self at one time check your network adapter make sure flow control is off and update drivers

    The hdld_svr-0.8.5 with the hdldump-gui-v15 combination gives me above 2MB/s through 2 routers and the same hardware...

    I do not know why but with one his IOP releases and works fine at 4.5 the slowest release of his only gave me 2.45 but with this until I disabled that I was getting around 300k 800k so up to you to try it or not but if it has flow control on that network adapter most likely cause

    I get about 2.2MB/s with this server and client, since it uses TCP for reliability.

    The SMAP driver used is different from the one used in HDLDump v0.8.5. There's a chance that there are bugs, but I don't think that I can ever prove that any of them exist or not. :/

    I do know that I once got really poor rates (~0.8MB/s) with my SCPH-10000's SCPH-10190 PCMCIA network adaptor when it was connected directly to my Lenovo Z460 laptop's Ethernet port. It was probably connected at 10Mbit HDX, hence why the rates were dismal. That was with HDL Dump v0.93 (IOP PKTDRV testing platform). When connected through a router or switch, it gave about 2MB/s.

    Ideally, the network support should have a way for the user to specify the network transfer mode (10/100Mbit HDX/FDX), but the homebrew network configuration file (IPCONFIG.DAT) doesn't have such a facility. :/

    Does this mean that every PlayStation 2 game you launch from a CD/DVD will detect your console's language setting as Japanese (regardless of the OSD language setting)? If so, then you don't really have a choice then... :/

    This isn't good. I was looking out for reports like this, since only a handful of games seemed to cause that. Unfortunately, I don't have a test case because I don't own any of those games, and I no longer wish to spend too much effort on PS2 development due to the little amount of use my software will ever see (compared to before). (Basically to say, I'm lazy to pirate the games for experimentation and testing).

    Thanks for reporting this issue. If anything gets done, I'll let you know.

    Oops. I think that I've gotten mixed up with either the PS2Ident or FMCB installer threads again then. :/
