Not a very exciting set to show I guess but here it is anyway. Here is every Dreamcast shooter released (Officially) I was going to add the like of all the Aero Dancing games and Airforce Delta as well but decided no to bother.

    Very nice.

(although it further proves to me that pce is king for shooters with an outstandingly high ratio of quality to shooters released)

Nope, it's shite  Only some levels are 3D shooting stages while the others are sort of a Gundam Battle type stage.

@Wheelaa - Yeah, the DC is a bit on the poor side for shooters. There are some great ones for the system but over all not that many. Personally I'm a big Saturn shooting fan but I'm still missing a few titles such as Blast Wind (15000 yen !!!) and err...... hang on maybe that's the only one I need?

Anyway, glad you guys like the picture

Nice collecion, got most of them too, except some of the later ones which are on PS2, so bought it on that instead.... ;-)

Right lets get down to the nitty gritty.. if we are talking pure shooters then we have to get rid of Rez (as technically you could put Virtua Cop 2 and others in as it has a similar system without a gun...), Macross M3 (again because other games share the same gameplay and you haven't listed them), Last Hope (its not official, plus too many wankers bought it to make a quick buck) and even Baldr Force is a bit tenious mainly as Sega list it as an Adult Adventure game and the shooting bits make up less then half the game.. the official site is here... http://www.web-giga.com/baldrforce/bf_top.htm I wouldn't suggest you look at it at work.... Gunspike and Cotton I'll leave as they are shooters but not scrolly shooters like the rest of them.. take away one of the under defeats you have twice. And what does that make it? 19 shooters in the entire DCs life... whats sad is that over 1/4th of them came out in the last 2 years. :crying:

The moral of this story is, if you want to play modern shooters then you're better off with a PS2.

Great, I'm looking forward to such a collection :)

Are you still searching for the missing limited and normal versions of some of the games? Would make it even better ^^

I have all the limited editions :) I just didn't add all the stuff that came witht hem in the picture.

@Jamtex, yeah a few may not be shooters to some people but I like to call them that  The real sad part is that you're probably right about modern shooters on the PS2 but what's horrid is that F*ing pad. Many were brought up on PSX but not me which is why I'll never like that "D-Pad" they use.

Actually I didn't mean that phonecard/poster-stuff but the normal editions of Border Down and Triggerheart Exelica as well as the LE of Last Hope. Phonecards are a rather useless thing for me personally, even though it makes some LEs complete... why didn't they just release a goddamned box with game + Idontknowwhat? -.-" I wouldn't even know where to store a poster or a phonecard without losing it in my mess.

I bet you whip out Baldr Force when you want to show off what a DC shooter is like.

You are aware that there are these things called Joysticks, you can plug them in a you can play shooters just like in the arcade. Seriously though, there are Saturn > PS adapters which mean you can play shooters with a decent pad too.

Break it down from those 19 games and only 10 of them are DC exclusives... :crying: (Although Bangaioh is different from the N64 version so you could add that in, still that only makes it 11).

It a nutshell it's crap, it's in 3D but yet the Megadrive 2D space harrier like shooter is much much better. Stick with the Saturn versions...

Best home Cotton game is Cotton Boomerang on the Saturn followed by the X6800 version of the first arcade followed by the mobile phone version I shit you not ! It's amazing ! Well better than the SFC games.

@ave, ah I see. Yeah I do own the limited edition of all the games shown if there is one apart from Ikaruga and Last Hope. Last Hope Ltd I sold on Yahoo Japan for 270 USD !!! As for Ikaruga, I never knew there was a limited one of them until the other month.

Awesome set! I'm proud to announce that I'm embarking on a quest to collect DC games. I have just recently fallen in love with the system. I wish I would have gotten one sooner!

Nice picture, thanks for sharing, think I have seen it one time before ;-).

I had almost a complete set of sealed DC-shooters just some months ago (Macross, Gunspike, Baldforce not included), but realized I had to sell them. A tough decision since it took my long time to find them all. But I really needed the money and now I only have Border Down LE and Under Defeat LE left. On the other side I bought some nice Treasure collectibles for some of the money and it is enough with one collection per se (and I also traded some games I actually could play for some of them;-).

If you had to choose only one DC-shmup (ok, let us be kind, three), which would you say are your fauvorite/s?

Do you (or someone else) know if the Sega Direct edition "only" included the five post cards or also the poster?

from what I heard the Sega Direct version of Ikaruga had post cards/ how many I don't know.

Hmm, if I had to choose just 3 DC shooters it would be Boarder Down with out a doubt, Trizeal and errrrr which one from Psyvariar 2, Under Defeat, Shikigami No Shiro 2 ????? Bugger, I choose Psyvariar 2.

The worst DC shooter apart from the obvious Cotton Boomerang would have to be Karasu (Crows) Ugly as sin and just as dull as it is ugly.
