LOL what ?   Well, I think both themes deserves the same grace. So I do NOT deny , or will deny the fact that both themes deserve the same grace. But I still lean to Gianas side, that the theme is a master piece too.
I agree with N64Gamer. I've played it, and I'm not really amazed. Granted, the music is nice but music should only be part of a game and NOT the only good thing about it. When the game is a rip off of Mario (right down to the name), level and graphic design are similar, and the play control is slightly awkward. It's similar to games now in this day and age being nothing but graphics.
Seem to me that most people here doesn't know the behind story of this game. The fact that the game is from the beginning a parody and rip-off to SMB in all ways. The autors even claimed that.
Yeah, I know that. it just sucks some people have not gotten it. After all, even to this day I have some very fond memories of playing that game. And the soundtrack is just awesome.
Yeah, except the English version seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to get one's hands on unless you're physically located in Australia. I'm curious about the game but just can't find a copy other than one German one on Ebay.
is that an affirmation of weirdness or just good practical advice? It's a matter of time before Paulo arrives I suspect, abandon thread.
I am not worried about Paulo, the problem is Evangelion-01 is a person who likes to blow on the fire of a bonfire that has never been. Basically trawling me when he feels like it. But that is not an affirmation of weirdness, just a practical advice when it comes to me just being me. And him messing about. Basically I am asking him in harsh terms to stay the hell away from me, if he doesn't have anything constructive to say. But I could get worse in my wordings , but I think an FU and dipshit should be enough for now.
it's my only import game I do own (import were I do live). it's good, but doesn't have the charme of the original one. the sound is kinda cool, since they used some SID elemets in it to celebrate the original chris tunez. btw. armin was also involved in this remake. R.I.P. ARMIN :-(
..and had to recall the game back after just few weeks in stores. an other sad story of old nintendo-imperial days. it was not even on a comparable platform. nevertheless, the game could keep up as the number one in german game magazines gamecharts (ASM, Power Play) for over one year!! I REMEMBER! and mani trenz programmed it almost by him alone in record time, while I do not know of how many programmes were employed for SMB at nintendo? fact is, GGS was one of the greatest game the c64 ever had. and almost every person who played it back in the good ol' days will love it of ever.
Greatest game on the C64? No way, that'd be something like Paradroid or Elite. Giana Sisters is good, but it's not quite that good. Also, you pretty much had to be there to understand how good GGS is.
Elite? Are you mad? The best version on a 8bit platform is probably the BBC one (although the Spectrum and MSX versions aren't far behind), but from people that have played all the versions the Acorn Archiemedes version was probably the best overall... C64 indeed... Although there are better platform games on the machine too, Mayhem in Monsterland was largely ignored as it came out a bit too late but it's probably the best platform romp you can get on the C64. I played GGS around the time it came out and it was flakey, especially if you had played the game that it stole, er I mean borrowed heavily from.
I obviously can't read. ..but the C64 version was probably the one most people played, and the game is still a classic no matter what version you played (also, since when has it mattered that a version of a game isn't the best available? It can still be one of the best games for that platform. I've probably posted about Mayhem in Monsterland before, the game is excellent and barely looks like it's running on a C64, too bad it came out in 1993 when nobody cared about C64 anymore!
C64 owners must really like pain, maybe they go down to the local S&M dungeon to be whipped and stepped on... Elite on the C64 is painfully slow, compared to most 8bit versions it was trying to watch paint dry... The Spectrum version did kick it's arse into the long grass. Yes a good game can be on many platforms, but in this day and age you generally want to play the best version of a game. I still never understand why Elite and games like Bubble Bobble appear on 100 best C64 games lists as unless you are using a C64 with a SuperCPU and other add ons to connect to the internet then you would choose a better machine to play the game properly... Me thinks it more rose coloured glasses of playing those games at the time rather then a good C64 which is still fantastic nowdays. How many games do people really play on the C64 nowdays for more then 5 minutes? Probably not that many... In fact here is a challenge name 10 C64 which are still fantastic now, that 1 - Didn't appear on another platform first (far too many games that do appear are arcade, Spectrum or Apple II games) and 2 - Are the most definate version of the game (a number of games are better on other platforms, The Sentinel, Thrust, etc)... Indeed it's one of the few games that I do think is an excellent C64 game and you can still play it now and get enjoyment from it without thinking hmm the Amiga, Famicom, Arcade, etc version was better...
Things were better when DK went on a hiatus for a few months. When he came back, the behavior is still the same.... Regardless if our comments are sarcastic, or just trying to make conversation with him.
