So you're upset that he's downloading files and using them as backups? And then saying its not piracy because he's using them for backups? Thats a gray area at best. And its not very polite to attack someone over such a trivial matter, or bring it up in the first place, imho. Besides, why did you keep saying topics like this would get "Ripped apart" because it ain't true.
When was I upset? Casual, reread the whole topic please. No where did I bash Hardcore for doing what he did. And none of my posts were "upset" or "angry", all I said was that despite him thinking it isn't piracy; it still is. Again, read the first post. He brought up the question of piracy. DiddyDonn was the one who called Hardcore's bluff on if he actually owned the games. Not me. you yourself Mr Casual brought up the NES Repro thread from way back, and I was simply stating "remember how that thread got torn apart"
Why don´t you stay the hell away from that issue. And Jesus titty and motherfucking Christ. the issue with Mr. Casual and me is motherfucking ancient history, and back in the day. AWS was involved too. But people wake the fuck up, gracianoleet stay the fuck out of that ancient historic issue ! ! ! And Graciano, I could ask you why. In some thread, which GoH started you began pissing me, up and down the back with the grammar issue. But I chose not to, but since we are at it, I fucking hate bad English grammar. Since it ruins any language when it becomes the norm to either speak ethnix, or ebonicks. Or some other fucked up hip hop bullshit all the damn cocksucking time ! So it isn´t only the English language I hate being broken into pieces. So cut the double standard crap. Or do you want to be my new hatepet graciano ? Mr.Casual, and AWS, I hope we are cool. Since sometimes people should stop sticking their nose in old issues .
wow. I'm pretty sure Graciano didn't even know that there was a huge issue. I mean, I almost asked why. Casual brought it up... holy shit dude. Calm the fuck down.
I don't really think its piracy to download backups. In fact, I think the law of Fair Use says its ok, even if the CD's are broken. Think about it this way: A copy of digital code is not depriving the original owner of his code but simply duplicating it. Theft is stealing a candybar from the store; they no longer have that candybar. Copyright infringement is photocopying a book; the book still exists and you have a copy. If the latter is for personal use, its ok. Thats just my two cents on the whole thing.
But if you burn your book, and photocopy someone elses copy...as said it's a gray area. I would buy another copy of the game, but that's more for personal reasons rather than morality.
I agree with you there, I'd rather play it on the original format, but it kinda depends on what console its for.
Yeah. I don't like using pirated stuff on home consoles, but i've done similar. I have pirated roms for my DS games so I only carry around my flash drive. I make custom guitar hero track lists. And like I said earlier, I replace the music in my Dreamcast games.
In one concise line, please sum up the issues that you had in mind when you originally jumped in here and started this whole anti piracy tyraid. I'm just curious why you don't just stop yourself from entering any of GoH's topics. It seems like it would save you a lot of grief. *I think it may also be necessary for me to state that I have reread this thread in its entirity and I am honestly curious about my above statements. I'm not trying to be an ass or anything towards you Henners.
His topic, custom dreamcast discs. I replied with "I make custom discs". But he said it isn't piracy in his Original Post. So all I did was say "yes it is".
I think custom discs made for Dreamcast are cool, I downloaded a collection of VMU games/tools on one disc. As I did not want to go through 200 games just to try out the best examples of how versatile and practical the VMU is. And as GoH said, downloading games you own, but with custom variations made by fans such as new music and/or new characters is cool too. Custom made ports is something I'd like to try, like for example the DC Quake released a few years ago, or for example other consoles, GTA for NES, Guitar Hero for C64... Even if people would consider that piracy, I wouldn't care.
This. Give the guy a break. He asked a legitimate question and a few people are ready to pounce on him over it. The only game I've downloaded that had its music replaced was Super Street Fighter II Turbo Grand Master Challenge (or something along those lines). The music wasn't bad but I still prefer the original. I might see if I can transfer the PC version tracks over one day, because those are fantastic.
Eeeerhm, I think you have miss quoted me. Since I was defending GoH. Or maybe I am missunderstanding you.
He was agreeing with you, actually. I think simply saying "This" when quoting someone will lead to confusion on international boards though.
There is a thread on Shoryuken with a step by step tutorial. Pretty Rad. I made Sentinel, Cable, and Iron man all have a black and Green color scheme. It's pretty glitchy though, sometimes other crap gets messed up for some reason. I dont think it's a solid way. But It was about 2 years ago I did it, It could be better now.
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 does have some fucking horrible music. Pretty sad since it's a good game. Glad I sold my Xbox version for a high price to the RE4 merchant though. I'd rather have the Dreamcast one.
