David Thomas...Anyone heard from him?

I'm pretty sure he got it. I feel like one of the last things he was talking to me about was how he was so excited that he received that package along with his other metal rack style xbox cases in the mail and how bummed he was that he hadn't got a chance to open and look at them yet.

 

I'm a lurker on this forum, I spotted this thread and somewhat relieved that I'm not the only one in this position.

I also did a deal with him on the XBMC4XBOX forums for a few Xecuter X3 parts for quite a large sum of money. Last time I heard from him was 14th of August he said "I will get the parts together over the weekend and get a quote for postage". I have tried to contact him three times since then but have not heard back.

Before the purchase I did some research and he seemed to be an active well respected member of the xbox scene. I really hope that life just got in the way and hes just busy at the moment, but I'm starting to get skeptical .

 

Back last February I had a successful transaction with him. He was incommunicado for several days after I paid, and since it took longer than is usually typical to ship something out, to make up for it he put in an extra low cost item into the bundle of xbox stuff I bought, without being asked. I'm sorry to hear some people haven't completed transactions with him lately, but my anecdote at least vouches for his character and his desire to make good in a different circumstance.

 

How long is several days? In about 4 days, it will be full month since I last heard from him.

 

Like some have said, his grandmother died and she lived in NY, he is from Florida. He supposedly is the only one doing anything with the house and her stuff (since he is the oldest). I admit it's a bit off putting him not replying or giving some notification back but, I guess we'll just have to see

 

He had two losses in his family in about 2 weeks of each other. My last contact with Dave was on 8/17 regarding an original XDK DVT3. I sent him some parts to his home right before then. Tracking showed they were delivered but I have not heard from him since.

All I know is he and I have done an extensive amount of business here through PMs and on ebay for years. He is not a scammer and this is not in his character at all. I am certain that he is still dealing with the two losses in such short amount of time.

 

Family matters can take over every second of your life, he was public about his loss and makes sense for those who have gone through the same. There might even be legal issues with his family who knows..

 

I understand it takes time. But its been over 30 days since the loss. I'm not saying he gets back on the selling train. All im saying his, whats stopping him from writing an email simply stating:
I've had a loss in the family; but don't worry I haven't forgotten about you" And then copying and pasting this email to all people he has "open" issues with.

This would take literally less than 5mins.

He might be a great seller like everyone says. But this is some shady stuff; unless something really unfortunate has happened. And thats why I wanted to know if anybody is actually friends with him. Not Internet friends.

4 weeks is just long because you're all waiting to hear from him. Something could seriously of happened though. I'm sure some of you may have his address?

 

yup I do have the address that I mailed him at still.

 

send a tracked letter, if it gets accepted then I'm sure he's around/alive.

 

I will give that a try, and let people know what I find out

 

I'm curious to see how this pans out. But I can say I've already accepted the fact that I wont be receiving my item or a refund at this point.

 

I have his address as well since I mailed him my defective x2.3b pro chip to see I he could fix it.
im still holding out hope but it's pretty odd for everything belonging to a person to go completely silent for this long.

 

Well I can see Im not the only one David has run off with there stuff. He has screwed me big time out of 1500.00 dollars worth of stuff!!! Im very upset that he would do this to me as well as all you!!! This is what I sent him:
2 Xbox dreamx systems to be modified
1 Xbox dreamx system to have the trusty dual upgraded motherboard put in that I paid for and had sent to him
1 Xbox dreamx system to have the 1ghz mother board put in that I bought from 'N64 Freak' and had it sent to David
1 upgraded Xbox with the trusty upgraded motherboard the Xbox was giving me issues so I sent it David to repair it. Its cost me $600.00 now I'm out
So he has taken 3 rare Xbox systems from me. I'm really bummed that he would do this!!! I hope I'm just jumping to conclusions but I have emailed him tons of times with no response its not looking good.

 

It's very out of character of him though, maybe he's in hospital?

 

This is getting pretty scary...

If he STILL didn't returned after a whole month, I am pretty sure that something bad went on (but I really hope not).

 

All i can say is he better return soon!!!
