I'm asking this on the forums I think I'll get the most amusing answers from.

I think it's along the lines of Emo's tend to hurt themselves for attention and be sad for no actual reason........and listen to really shitty music.

People who are miserable have real issues, listen to less shitty music and don't hurt themselves for attention but bring everybody down with them.

EMO = Prick with no life that choose to be that way.

Miserable people are that way for a reason that they didn't choose (most of the time)

Yeh. Emo doesn't want to change their attitude. They prefer to be in a depressing state of mind. Miserable people don't want to be miserable.

They apparently have more of a life than someone who posts about it on an internet forum.

What was the point of this?

No offense intended but is this really an appropriate thing to post?

Asking for amusing answers of peoples options to me is just asking for trouble, there maybe people on this forum that think of themselves as 'emo'

And just because someone looks a certain way, wears a certain type of clothes and listens to whatever music the young'uns listen to these days doesn't necessarily make them 'emo'

I personally think this topic is idiotic and childish, but of course theres free speech, fair enough, but really, whats the point?

Maybe I should mention I've been pretty miserable this week my self. See it's less wrong when the asker of the question is one of the 2 things asked.

Why the fuck even acknowledge the whole emo thing? Seriously. That word wasn't a part of everyones vocabularies a few years ago.

Aye,what's known as "emo" today is basically fannys playing watered down pop-punk with awful lyrics about getting dumped and shit. All these "emo" kids we have today are all fannys. Lads with poodle hair and jeans so tight it cuts the blood off to their balls. It's annoying how they group rim-lick each other on social networking sites. Fannys. :110:

in my view (which might even be wrong) being Emo is a trend (a fashion, visually) as well as a vehicle to transfer guilt, miserableness and rejection that all people feel at some point in their lives. Being emo just makes it "cool" to be miserable, teenagers were always depressed for not being able to get layed.

When I was in high school, there really was no sub-genre of punk rock known as emo/hardcore/scene - it was just punk. I hear these terms thrown around all the time in relation to these kids, but its all the same to me...guys wearing girl pants, hair pasted to dome, broken hearts and bitching for immature reasons.

Oh god not the emo thing again...

9/10 of "emo" kids are just "nu-goth" with floppy hair, all the real "emo" kids really killed themselves rather than wrote a poem about it then stole their mothers bottle of Malibu.

Emo is just a musical genre with a fashion trend to follow. Being "emo" is a term used in relation to depression.

Enough said. These aren't the droids you're looking for, move along.
