Do Fighting games take more skill than other games?

I don't think it's a troll thread, there's been some reasonably coherent points put forward, and anyway it's always interesting to see other people's biases and misconceptions laid bare.

And yet you're confident to say it's a one-trick pony? It'd probably an accurate assumption for most games (doesn't justify it, mind), but Portal actually shifts gameplay style fairly dramatically toward the end. It's only a couple of hours, either way.

 

Well, I was quick to judge, which I usually am for games now-a-days. If something doesn't hook me for long, I usually quit and try to find something new.

But, hey, I'm willing to accept that I was wrong about Portal. I just don't know that for sure yet.

 

As crazy as this sounds, I actually bust one out every now and again. I've not updated my graphics card in years though, and my monitor(s) are vertically rotated now to get maximum real estate out of minimal...err... real estate. Might just use the PS3 next.
