Yesterday i went to the mall, after work, and HotZone had a major renewal on their arcades. 4x DX cabinets of Virtua Tennis 3 with Full HD 62' LCDs 3 sets of 4x connect cabinets of Mario Kart GP 2 3x SDX cabinets (the ones that move and require seatbelts) of After Burner Climax with Full HD 40' LCDs 2x DX Time Crisis 4 And they finally fixed the problems with Sega Super GT, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 and Daytona USA. But they got rid of Initial D with the Cycraft simulator, OutRun 2 (booo OH: ) and Ferrari 355 Challenge 2 (They kept the first one though) So, did you guys spent some time on the arcades lately? I know some of you guys in Japan do this religiously, but what about the other members? PS: By the way, anyone knows if Sega is gonna make a home port of After Burner Climax? The game is amazing!
The nearest arcade is at 40 minutes by bus, and it has Power Smash, MAME multi game machine, Virtua Striker 2, Sega Rally 2, Manx TT and some other chinese bootlegs...
I occasionally go into the local arcade, but it's just a cack one in a bowling alley. A couple of years back, I did spend 4 days at Funland in The Trocadero, London, though I also noticed when I was there that the former SegaWorld that was at the top of the building is still closed and blacked-out after all this time - I wonder what's up there and whether there are any old machines/signage/etc. still left up there... anyone fancy some urban exploring?
no and yes.. the only arcade left in this town is in my living room but yeah im going to london for an arcade meet in a few weeks and whenever im in japan i go all the time, if there were any arcades left in sweden id visit that all the time for sure
i go there to watch those experts playing Initial D.. I notice there's a card game like Dynasty Warriors.. Links up to players overseas.. oh ya.. My favourite was when Dance DAnce Revolution and that Para Para game.. Sexy girls dancing on the machines.lol
Most of you don't live in the US I take it? I DO however live near a Dave and busters (decent one too) and A tilt that gets alot of traffic thanks to the tekken crowd.
Yeah, everyday, but then I'm in Japan, so that's cheating. Reached my skill limit on Initial D (boo), so I'm so caning Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 at the moment.
Sounds like a load of UK places.....the only places near me that have any arcade games of any kind are the usual bowling alleys or a few ropey old boozers I noticed the Sega World had closed a while ago.....could be worth a venture. Slip on a a bright yellow coat, hard hat and a clipboard and of we go  There was don`t know if still there but a NAMCO arcade right next to the London Eye, not sure if still there, sure it isn`t, but may pass it on the way home tonight and have a look
Of course, i always go to my neares arcade. The newest game they have is House of the Dead 4, but my favourite game is Star Wars Arcade. I alse play Time Crisis 3, Star Wars EP I Racer and Simpsons Arcade. At my university we have 3 arcade cabinets, Street Fighter 3, Sega Sports Tennis 2k2 and a 2d shooter which name i can't remember right now
Unfortunately there is absolutey NO arcade in my whole town (population ~500.000!)! >_< One used to be in a cinema near the train station. Some pretty good stuff they had, like 2 Naomi cabs, a Sega Rally twincab, Confidential Mission, Metal Slug and a Sega Striker Fighter 3-screen dedicated cab (awesome!). It closed down 2 years ago, now the place is being occupied by a shitty gambling arcade with some lousy down-and-outs inside! :crying:
I go the arcade at least 3 times a week. There was a period about 2 years ago when I hardly went but now I'm all over Midnight Run Maximum Tune 3. I'm pretty lucky because I have 2 big ones with in 5 and 10 minutes walking distance from my house and work in a city that has loads of really good indie arcades. yakumo
If there was anywhere with an arcade machine near me, I'd go there every so often. I saw a pinball machine being towed off from the pizza place near me last year....pissed me off, except it wasn't really a cool one. There was a badass arcade in West Virginia near me in this vacation park place. Me and the chicka played in it for awhile, noone else was there and all games were just a quarter. Nothing hugely special but still fun, they at least had SF2. I want to play TMNT or Battletoads multi with people again!
Last arcade I went to was in Poland and the only decent game was Metal Slug X. Arcades are pretty much non existant in the UK these days.
