I am wondering how you manage your day to day life given a major problem.

It's the reason that prescription drugs are the most heavily abused drug. My mother has chronic back pain/tingling, and the Dr.'s are more or less useless.

Both me and my brother have knee problems, in different stages.

Mine is relatively mild, it just is unstable when standing up, and when overly painful I use a paracetamol.

His is far worse - daily pain. He uses weed.

I have autism, highly finicky type 1 diabetes that isn't helped by the fact my metabolic rate is 3x higher than the average person, and both knees are extremely bad now. I use insulin in a pump for the diabetes, aspirin for the knees, and just deal with my autistically fucked up brain. Almost forgot the extreme mental trauma I went through growing up. Made me into a cold hearted bastard.

    I manage somehow...

At 31 yrs old, still feeling strong and healthy, no chronic pain or anything. I dont take any medicine and Im literally never sick, never even a cold.

I do have a problem though, persistent cystic acne. I tried all the creams, including prescription antibiotic creams, I tried precription oral antibiotics for acne.
It all did not work, despite me being very clean with my skin. Only thing I did not try is Accutane.
My derm wants to put me on it but somehow I fear it. It is a very potent drug and a long treatment. If you are one of the unlucky few who get the side effects, It might fuck you up for life.
My acne is not extremely severe, It is still in the chronic but moderate range. So I guess I got used to being ugly and do not care enough to go on accutane. Im working on my diet these days, in hope something will work..

I've got little cartilage in my knees, causing my bones to grind together when bending my knees and cause varying degrees of discomfort and pain.

It makes bending down/doing squats (Which makes weight lifting exercises that require me to bend at the knees painful)extremely painful and when I bend down to get something I often have to have someone help me up or have something to grab on to help pull myself up.

On top of this I have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, it was really bad growing up and I had the worst anxiety episode of my life a few months ago but for the most part I have it under control.

My older brother has a crooked spine (can't remember the term for it) Aspergers, asthma and learning disabilities. He was made fun of growing up and has had emotional trauma because of it his whole life.
Plus, no one will give him a job or even remotely a chance at one. When we were living in California a few years back he got a job doing janitorial work, but was fired for mentioning that he has back problems when he was taking a moment to rest one day.(Because he is transparent and hates to lie about anything.) He is probably the nicest person i've ever met who has been dealt a shitty hand in life and not a day goes by that I wish I could do a god damn thing about it.

I can get bad heartburn, and found antacids and pepcid-type stuff made it worse. At one point it was actually a stomach ulcer. I take probiotics and those help, and try to stay totally away from caffeine, carbonated drinks, spices, and fried foods (not entirely).

My Father has R.A. I once asked him how he keeps getting up every day and not letting R.A immobilize him, he responded "well I can't just wait to die so as long as I'm breathing I'll be damned if I stop moving." I guess its the will of a man and I believe we are not given more the we can handle.

At the age of 20, I have chronic migraines which physically make me ill and am currently on medication for them. Whenever I get a migraine, I can't do anything at all. I throw up, I feel weak, and I basically just feel like death warmed over. My migraines usually last about 3 days and they are the most grueling 3 days ever because it just feels like my head is being sliced open forcefully with a dull hot blade. In addition to my migraines, I have a bad knee but it isn't due to genetics or anything along those lines. When I was in the 4th grade, I crashed my bike into a parked car (I shit you not, but it was because I wasn't looking) and basically blew my knee cap out of proportion. I didn't break anything but if I sit the wrong way or stand for too long, my knee locks up and it just shoots sharp pains up my left leg. I do also suffer from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which is somewhat like acid reflux but I can't eat certain types of foods (extremely spicy foods mainly, I can eat curry but the spice has to be in the moderate level) or else I get extremely sick to my stomach. The only way to get past my IBS is to basically take Zofran and Bentyl before or after I eat or if I feel myself getting nausea. Finally, I do suffer from back spasms however mine are from working in a butcher shop when I was 16. We never slaughtered any cattle because all of our meat came from resellers but we made our own hotdogs which requires shoveling almost 2-tons of basically hotdog paste into a stuffer which was taller than me. To make a long story short, I basically screwed up my back from doing this for 2 years and on occasion, I get back spasms and back pains. I find Tylenol and Advil help a bit with my back spasms but it sucks because it prevents me from comfortably sleeping and doing the things I enjoy doing.

NSAIDs containing caffine which I'm pretty sure have contibuted to this. Oddly enough I had a rather greasy breakfast the other day Cooked either in butter or Olive Oil. I didn't have heartburn at all that day.

Heartburn happens from basically every food. I used to get it really bad to the point my throat would be burnt, causing gag reflexes. It's a horrible thing, but there's lots of 'over-the-counter' meds you can take after eating to keep the acids down.

Only illness I have is well my body burning fat too quickly, trying so hard to put on weight. :/

The only thing that will give me heartburns, or more specifically Acid reflux, is eating soup and bread at the same time. It does it everytime. Im not sure exactly why.

I'm only into the early 30's and have noticed my back isn't what it used to be. Perhaps I was a little too excessive in my youth with constant heavy lifting and manual labor. It's not a big problem as of now, but I am starting to worry about my wrist, hand and shoulder because I've been an artist virtually all of my life. When the time comes, I'll probably just deal with it like anything else, avoid medication and just find a good puzzle or distraction. Too many people go about a possible quick fix with medication and hardly think of the long term consequences. I've been mindful of this since I was real young and rarely even take aspirin. Better to find ways to block pain with your mind, if at all possible.

I have the same issue. I blame it on a combination of my type 1 diabetes and my metabolism. It's 3x that of the average person. It also doesn't help the fact that my body is super dense so according to the BMI scale I SHOULD be considered overweight but I'm not. Even though I'm considered 10 pounds overweight I'm actually skin and bones. My bone mass is very dense and strong. Hell, I survived a triple barrel roll car wreck with only a fracture to my collar bone on the left side. It was barely fractured too. I was back to work in a week and fully healed in 3. From details taken about the crash I should have had both arms broken and my back fractured as well but I didn't. The car was completely wrecked. Only straight panel left was the tailgate and hood. Blew all the windows out (1996 Isuzu Rodeo SUV), blew the grill off, and bent the wheels on the left side to 45 degrees. roof was also caved in pretty badly on the passenger side. It was a mess. I crawled out through the windshield and was fine aside from some diabetic ketosis and the fracture. Black ice caused the roll, not blacking out or anything else diabetes related. Thankfully no one was with me when it happened.

Am I some sort of superhuman then? LOL
