Hi, I sent payment for 2x 3.3V flashed bios chips for a VA1 board. Just making sure you notice, the private messages are pretty weird and I can't see sent items.

you have to turn on saving of sent items.

No idea why it would be configured like that, but it is.

Hi folks, a little off topic I know, but...... Is anyone selling a console with one of these pre installed in Piggy Back formation? Having fried the Board on one of 2 DC's here I am not trusting enough to set about the 2nd one with the soldering iron. Failing that, anyone know of a place in Ireland that would undertake such an install?

    Many thanks

    Craig.

I hate it so fuckin' much, it always happens to me and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I tried everything, heating up the board a little with a heatgun so that the temperature is good to solder etc.
Still those solderpads keep coming off, no matter how slow I take off the IC from the board.
    What am I doing wrong???

See the red marked ones are gone, can anyone tell me where they were going to or if there are any alternative solderpoints?

Sorry but Pin 22, 25, 27 have no traces and Pin 10 and Pin 21 are going under the IC502 so I can't follow them.

from the looks of the biosrom datasheet
    Pin 10 is A1
    Pin 21 is Q3
    Pin 22 is Q11
    Pin 25 is Q12
    Pin 27 is Q13

But where are they connected to?
    IC501 Pin 10 to IC502 Pin 20, cause both A1 ?

    Please help :/

Q11, 12 and 13 are NC as chip is used in 8 bit mode. The other 2 have vias right next to the pads, so just solder to those?

Failing that, use multi meter on the vias, then on the other side of the board, check around the gdrom area - there are some test points there and the gdrom is on the same bus

    Thanks.
What can I do in future to prevent the solderpads to come off?

Easiest way other than saying "do it properly" is to use fine side cutters and snip the legs near the body of the chip. Then use soldering iron and apply solder to each pad (with the remaining leg still attached). This will let you remove the leg. Then clean up the pads with braid.
