Hi,

I am wondering if the Kenzei has any particular advantage over Arcadeforge's UMSA (http://arcadeforge.net/UMSA:::15.html)?
The Kenzei seems to have component/composite out, but apart from this are there any other features?

 

People know me well that I've never talked about other products or compare them with mine. I've never used it also.
All I can say is Kenzei is optimized for DC, and it has a completely unique design from the ground up, not using the designs found on the net or copying someone else's work.. I spent many hours for it. I tested all these designs and saw some incompatibilities/problems with the DC so I decided to do it from scratch.
It is not my way to market the products by saying it's better than X, or comparing with others.

Kenzei has separate RCA jacks for RGBS, they are not component or composite. I will create a new thread for it soon, after finishing the final tests.

 

Thanks beharius. I didn't mean by any way that you were copying anything... It's just that I own an UMSA and I'm wondering if I should get a Kenzei or not

 

And the RCA jacks for RGBs are in or out? As far, as I understand, VGA is in (seperated H-Sync and V-Sync) and Scart is out (merged H-Sync and V-Sync signals into C-Sync(composite)), but I am not sure about the RCA jacks. I first thought that they are composite and component, but now you say, they are RGBS. On which devices do/can I need those RCA jacks.

 

They are outputs for some converters or monitors.

Hi there, Lord beharius. First of all, I would like to congratulate you for your impressive effort.



I have a couple of questions:


Is it possible to have a Hanzo box with both RCA and audiojack? Or would that be superfluous?

Is a new box due to come out?


Also, what is this Kenzei?

 

Hanzo has only the RCA jacks for audio output. You can use RCA to headphone jack adapters. No plans for a new or upgraded version, current one is newly redesigned.
Kenzei is a new product which will be released in 2 weeks. It basically merges H and V syncs of a VGA source and creates a Composite Sync. This is needed for upscalers like XRGB or some professional monitors etc. so you can connect your DC to XRGB.

Can you enlighten me as to what the benefits of it are, and needed hardware, in regards to the Hanzo?

Also for the Keizei, would that be possible to use with something like a Sony PVM? RGB + sync? I think the max my Sony PVM does is 480i, so it would be better to use a VGA monitor over a PVM (480p vs 480i)?

yeah Kenzei has separate RGB+S RCA connections for those monitors. It depends on the quality of the monitor, and screen size is not too big for comparison. Everything looks well on small CRTs.
