I may actually buy one of these new looking DS systems if they don't look too bad. The DS now has a shit load of quality titles that I would like to play even if that is only about 20% of it's library (Most of it in Japan is kiddie shit or education crap which really sells the DS here). Yakumo
I hate to say it, but there's not a system out there that has a library of greater than 20% of games I want to play... even the Saturn and Dreamcast.
in my belief, the GBASP was released to solve a problem, the way-tooo dark screen. the micro was an attempt at squeezing another few months of the aging system, so to redesign the system would be saying either it has a main fault, or they just want more cash, i really cant see them making the system much smaller, as making the screens smaller would make stylus actions trickier, maybe an analog nub, or something along that lines, i dunno, i just dont see why we need another ds so soon Ryan
So long as there's a black one I'll be happy. The silver one looked terrible, so I sold mine and got a black Jap one Even with just a few excellent games you can last quite a while though; the last boss on Sonic Rush has been kicking my arse for ages now, and I'm deliberately not buying more games I want to encourage me to complete things more Stone
so what they redesign it i will buy it to add to my collection of gameboy systems :110: (currently i am only missing gameboy color because i lost mine:-( )
Hmmm I like the mockups, but if they put backwards compatibility in to the redesigned DS, I would maybe buy the DS.
I'm called a big BS on the new DS ! Visited 3 stores today none of which had any new DS systems or even knew there was one. Nintendo's own site has nothing down on it either and it's now the 16! I'll take another look in the shops after work just in case the shop owners were telling porkypies. Yakumo
true it did say they were ANNOUNCING it on the 16th at least that gives me time to save up money for it:110:
Miniton! Meh why am I browing the internet, I should be doing revisions for my Japanese exam at university tomorrow. =)
Just to make sure everybody's on the same page, a redesign was never actually confirmed by Nintendo; their official position is: "Nintendo is always looking for ways to improve its games and systems, but we have nothing to announce at this time."
I'd have to say than the Neo Geo has alot more than 20% prime stuff in it's library. but this is dabatable ofcourse.
Debatable, possibly, but in the Neo Geo's case the equation changes to "a library of games, only 20% of which I can afford."
Neo Geo is a pretty unique system. If you like 2D fightin games, then there's a good chance you'll love 50% or more of it's library. I'm not such a 2D fighting fan, so the theory still holds true for me.
exactly. neo geo is more for the fighting game fanatic. if you're not into such games there is only so much you can get out of the system. @Greatsaintlouis:lol
I don't think that I have liked 20% of the games for a particular genre on a system, let alone 20% of the entire system catalog. Ok, I take that back; I like almost every lightgun game.
Wasn't there a third party product announced that was licenced by Nintendo? I saw something of a portable Car DVD player which was capable of playing GBA games.
