Well the DS3 is here and it's great, it feel like a wireless Dualshock 2 pad with triggers, the battery life is good and it feels heavier and more like a pad and the DS works well just like a PS2 DS2 pad and it works in most games I have and the PS2 / PS1 games that support rumble. Just wish I didn't have to fork out 5000 yen for the privledge of something that should have ben with the machine from day one.
No the buttons are still analogue, not great analogue but analogue none the less. Anyway Assembler I am sure your PS3 gets more use then the Neo Geo Mahjong controller you have. GoH : As opposed to Microsoft cause Bill Gates hangs with the homies?
I read somewhere that the "rumble" technology used on it's older than the one used on DS2. Sony didn't want to spend money to make something good on the first place, and now are not spending money to fix their wrong attitude. Honestly, i'll only get a PS3 for GT. Maybe MGS4. I think i'll buy it when they release a bundle. PS3 + DS3 + GT5. All this for a cheaper price
I would dismiss that as rumour. Sony are working with the people they were in dispute and who also provided the patent for the XBOX/360 controllers. Hence, they have developed a rumble mechanism based on their patent in addition to speciliazed code to avoid setting-off the motion detector.
My advice about the PS3 to everyone on the fence about it, is to buy it from a Sam's club if you have one. With their one year (no questions asked) return policy you can simply return it if it flops, or if the price drops return and re-buy for the lower price effectively giving you a 1 year price guarantee. I'll leave the ethics of this up to you, but at least there is a "safe" route with the PS3 if you choose to pick one up.
They paid a small fortune so that the pads will rumble on the PS3. I don't see how that makes them bastards. It's not like rumble really adds that much to the games.
Yeah huh! I think it's cool when theres an explosion or earthquake and the controller starts rumbling.
I only can think of two games for the PS3 I'm even a little interested in at the moment. That aren't already going to the Xbox 360. One of them is Disgaea 3 and the other is MGS4. And MGS4 is more than likely going to go to the Xbox 360, and Disgaea 3 is probably going to be just another anime styled stat grinding game, imo. Is Resistance on the Xbox 360 yet?
To be fair I've updated the system a lot. Actually, considering how long it takes to update I can pretty much guarantee that the majority of its usage has been spent in update. I'm quietly confident that one day something will be released for the PS3 that's so sh*t hot I can't ignore it and I shall be prepared!
I don't think it will do, because it was one of those 'Sony-pushed' games which probably won't switch over (like Everyday Shooter). However, I did see Resistance in action at a LAN party a couple of months back - until it crashed repeatedly. It's nothing special - just buy Gears of War for a similar experience without all the 'wait a sec, dude, just got to restart my console again'
