Yeah - cold console, played other games afterwards perfectly fine. It kept hanging up whilst loading maps and sometimes within the first 5 minutes of starting a level. But who knows, it may have been a buggered disc or something - wasn't mine to check nor to ask. We ended up playing Tekken 5 instead after ending up at a loss for games to play - it was the same fortnight that Halo 3 came out so there was a lot of that.
Bleh, I'll try it at some point but it doesn't grab me. Nintendo set the Mario benchmark so high with Mario64.
I've heard that Galaxy is one of the best platformers of all time and easily, hands down the best game on the Wii. Of all time?? That grabs me. When people make bold statements like that about a game, I've gotta play it!
what you seem not to realize Taucias is that Galaxy is a supertotal of mario 64. Nintendo has set the bar once again.
Are you saying the DC is a crap console compared to the PS2 for having sold less? Or that a game like Psychonauts is bad for performing poorly? On the other hand, FIFA games sell very well, and so do NFS titles, and we both know they re unplayably boring.
The ps2 titles will be fully compatible with DS3 (rumble function). http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/34850/118/
Yep, they are fully compatable. Played Katamari Damacy and it worked a treat with rumble. As for Mario Galaxy, I'm just pointing out that given the large number of Wii owners out there, it's sold rather badly. Given it's a major mario game, selling a pathetic number probably won't go down well at Nintendo HQ. See my other thread for more details.
Unfortunatly this is true...pretty fucking retarded that a great Wii game comes out and gets the shaft. All my Wii owning friends went and bought Guitar Hero 3 and some Naruto game. I mention Mario and they say no.
It's just the whole planet thing I don't like the look of. Tiny modular worlds you have to jump between, and the sickly cute stuff. I prefer the idea of immersive large environments and I was hoping for something like Mario 64 only bigger. Galaxy looks like it is shorter and the gameplay is best enjoyed in short bursts. Barcode said he completed it in a relatively short time. I'm not saying Galaxy is bad, just that it doesn't really get me excited as a gamer. Certainly not enough to buy a Wii. Does the game rely on motion controls? Nothing really gets me excited this generation, at least not the games. Assassin's Creed will be the next game I buy. I'm just not sure whether to get it for the XB360, or wait until I buy a PS3.
barc0de bust his sweet ass to do so. I am at star 100/120 and the game isn't easy at all at some points. Much harder than 64. The reason that I finished it quickly is because 3d platformers are my specialty, I spent about 22 hours so far on the game playing in detail, not just trying to finish it, and I m quite versed in the puzzles (plus I had a friend's assistance with the second wiimote). It's an incredible game, everyone should really try it, and this includes you too senor Jim
