Hey , nothing wrong with how you want to raise your kids man. That's up to you! And I agree with GTA at least, I've never found them enjoyable. And I Know when I have kids someday I'm going to have to a crazy good parent with how I tell my kids about games and let them play and what not. A month or two ago my Cousin and her kids came to my house for a 2nd thanksgiving(Because I spent thanksgiving with my Dad's side of the family this year) And her youngest son is 9 and he walked in my room once and saw that I had Modern warfare for the Ps3 and his eye's lit up. Said to me "Wow you've got modern warfare 2 I haven't played that, I gotta play it because such and such friends have played it yatta yatta..." I told him no because my PS3 wasn't hooked up at the mo ment (Which was true) and later he showed that he could use plenty of explicit words that I know if I had used when I was his age ,I would be in deep doo do. So after that I was glad I hadn't let him play MW2 , god knows what kind of stuff the kid would've been saying. And it's not so much the game that makes these kids act inappropriately , it's the social experience with playing with people online or with other people that leads to it I think. So, when I have kids I will explain this stuff to them at a younger age that being a respectful sport is the right thing to do no matter what it is (game, sports etc) and that video games are just games, nothing more. Which means the type of stuff that is said and happens in video game content stays there. I don't know if my point is exactly clear, my parents never sort of set these sort of examples for me and my brother but we just somehow inherently understood without being told. Maybe it was because of the era of games most of us older gamers grew up in? I don't know. Imma stop talking now I think i've rambled enough
Sorry for picking up and old thread, but I wanted to ask here instead of opening a new one for my simple question. So far was any beta or review copy sent out of the game? Since the release is due a bit late again towards the given date, but soon... finally.
No playable content in the wild. Nothing was leaked or send out to the press. But there are only 71 days left... (hopefully!) http://countdown.duke4.net/
well, looks like they care well about not having anything leaked....good job, just when I think of how many Pre-Production builds they must have created in all these years
i preordered it, cant believe i did but i did. This will be the first new game i pay full price for in over 10 years. the last one i can think of was doom64 back in 96 or 97.
Seriously, it's the first time I ever pre-ordered a game and same goes for me, the last game I bought directly after the launch at full price was a japanese copy of Metal Gear 1 for PSX.
June 14th. And Apparently if you pre-order it (not sure if you hve to PO the balls of steel edition though) you get a demo. Not sure
what's the point of getting a demo AFTER you have pre-ordered? I want a demo so I can choose to pre-order or not!!!!!
The whole Pre-Oreder thing was for Borderlands GOTY, if you buy that edition, it comes with a "Duke First-Access Club", where you will be able to get the demo earlier sometime soon. Aside from that, according to some interviews with R. Pitchford, the game will have a demo released before the game, Gearbox will release more info about it in April.
Seriously, the wait is slowly killing me. It's been so many years I've been waiting to see what they'll do.
I'd imagine something like Postal 2 personally, though probably <insert random shitty FPS with naked ladies> lol
