I would say something like, "I don't know if that would be extremely sad or exciting,", but I would be lying, as I know exactly which it would be.
How about a new console from Nintendo that's a regular gaming system with a simple controller like back in the day. Enough with this gimmick shit, it's getting old
In all fairness the Gamecube which was the last one with a normal controller they put out did pretty bad sales wise.
Yeah, seeing the success of the wii and even kinect it would be pretty stupid if they went back to regular controls
I'm looking forward to more info as well as seeing the new Nintendo console in action. Resident Evil 3D as other have said will also be interesting although I hope it continues the story forward and isn't a side story that takes place before 5 for example. Half Life 3 would be epic, when the games first came out I never got into them but I've played through the first one including all the extra ones like blue shift then picked up the orange box on 360 for HL2 and it's episodes and I was glued to it. I'm sure there are other great games in the works but I dunno, I'm just not as excited about gaming as I once was. Hopefully this new Ninty console which is finally HD as well as 'significantly more powerful then PS3' will bring some excitement back. Mario & Zelda with insane polycounts and ubershaders? YES PLEASE.
Project Cafe from Nintendo: Their new console that has been reported to be far more powerful than the 360 and the PS3, have the *best* online service ever conceived as well as Nintendo already having sent dev kits out to third party devs and more or less publicly announcing that their really looking to gain back their hardcore market! W00! Times are going to be crazy w/ another high end console from another hardware manufacturer other than Sony or Microsoft. Super stoked!
Some of these statements are rumors but it has been established AFAIK that Nintendo is planning for the Stream or w/e the name it'll be given is to have the best online service available: http://purenintendo.com/2011/04/26/more-project-cafe-rumors-games-to-be-shown-off-at-e3/ That's just one site, there are probably others that will re-iterate this info and probably with more grounds, and Iwata I believe has stated that he's really trying to have this system be the most "social" console so it's really going to be the epitome of networking and social interaction, hence even the rumored name "Stream", like "streamlined" or that the controllers have the game data streamed to them, regardless, it makes sense (the best online service become a reality from Nintendo) given their other rumored and gradually becoming fact statements.
the problem is that nintendo's logic isn't always objective. What they consider "best option" isn't really the best at all if you judge from their previous promise/action ratios regarding important online features. I am certain that they will do away with those shitty friend codes for the most part but if it's going to be free I m not that confident that they'd want to sweat over it too much. They're not known for bending backwards and spending money just to please the tech-savvy, you should know that by now (well depending on your age)
Nintendo is on the right path for an online service, but they still don't quite get it. Consider the 3DS: I have a friends list, and some games have achievements; but I cannot communicate with my friends via 3DS nor can I see what achievements they have. Its like, Nintendo was almost there... but then decided the effort was good enough and stopped.
Yes!! I received my E3 badge in the mail earlier this week. This will be my 9th E3 even though I've been associated with the industry for less than a year. In the previous years, I've had to sneak in. It was easier to sneak in the show about 10 years ago. One could literally blend in with the crowd to avoid the door guards checking for badges. But as the years went by, it became harder and harder for the fans to sneak in. A couple of years, I actually wore the same uniform that the door guards had - light khaki pants, white dress shirt, red tie, and dark blue blazer jacket. This worked for 3 years until they hired a 2nd security company to patrol the INSIDES of the halls. After I couldn't do this anymore, I started bugging people outside the Convention Center for guest passes. With a guest pass, one could create a profile with their on-site registration computers and then they would print the badge on a plastic card and hand it over to you with a valid ID. They also stopped doing this so for the following E3 I attended, I had to come up with a different plan. So I took my girlfriend to the convention center and we just asked people for their badge (this was after the first day of the show). Nobody parted with their badge that day. The following day I again took my girlfriend but this time I put her in a low cut blouse. After an hour of asking random folk outside, one guy gave his badge to my girl. Unfortunately, the door guards check the names on the badges so a girl wouldn't be able to use a man's badge. What did we do? We created a convincing fake! Scanned, photoshopped, printed, it came out perfect. These modern badges have a holographic strip on the side. We re-created that by buying some cheapy children's toy at a party supply store. We were able to attend the last day of E3 2009 as a couple with her newly minted bootleg badge. When I saw that the badges for 2010 were essentially the same, we quickly created for ourselves another set of fakes. Little did we know that the 2010 badges had a section that glows under a blacklight installed beneath each door of the convention halls. Needless to say, we were turned away with our non-glowy badges. But everything worked out fine because we eventually FOUND two badges. One had a girly name and the other just said "Guest of E3". Sadly I won't be able to take my girl to this year's show unless I find another badge with a girl's name on it but I'm not counting on it. But on the plus side, I'm going. So that's good, right?
Hmmm, you just answered a question I had been pondering, that being whether or not significant others could join one to E3. I work on a small website that has been getting passes to E3 for a couple of years now, and I was planning on going next year. Of course, my girlfriend wants to tag along too, and I was a bit concerned that they may not allow "guests". Does anyone know if a guest can be requested or something? I'd be interested in knowing that. Otherwise I guess I'll write a few articles under her name or something.
Not likely. Its in par with power of the X360, but again, this is for the "Next-Gen" console war. Microsoft isn't going to lower the specs of their next-gen, so really, Nintendo is down again with a generation behind everyone. Just as I said ages ago. Yes, dev kits have been out for months.
