Lame name or not its got a pretty decent price I have to say considering how much the 3DS was at launch
The kindle has unlimited 3G for life, but ebooks are what? 3MB each? And theres no coops or MMOs about reading.... At $250 it would be a great price if it launched NOW, but the launch is for xmas ninty has the liberty of keeping the 3DS at price, then doing a massive cut right before PSV (not gonna write vita every fucking time) launches. A 3DS at say $170 would make the PSV look like an expensive toy not made by apple, therefore POS
There is not a ****ing chance in the world 3DS drops that much. 3DS problem is software, there isn't anything out still for the system to justify the price. Vita can have the same issue but sony looks to be trying to justify it with uncharted and the other heavy hitters they showed off.
Even if Nintendo lowered the price of the 3DS, at 250 bucks the PSV seems like a pretty good deal. It's not like the difference in price between the original DS and the PSP. Nn terms of features, right now the PSV seems like a better deal. The 3DS in my opinion is ugly as hell, the PSV looks way better. Having two analog sticks compared to only one in the 3DS will help too. I'm not saying the 3DS will fail, there is still time (price cuts, better software, maybe a 3DS Lite?) but as it is right now, things are not looking good for Nintendo.
My e3 reactions so far: Microsoft had a conferance of 90% shovelware. Unbelievable. Even nintendos previous wii conferences never approached that level of crummy software. Why are they putting all their eggs in the kinect basket when everyone on their live service is playing COD? Sony was very strong this year, great titles and of. course vita. Lots to look foward too which is what e3 is about. Nintendo tomorrow, they love to steal the show
http://www.shacknews.com/article/68720/halo-combat-evolved-anniversary-confirmed F this remake. It's not what I want. Maps will just be multiplayer add ons for reach. it's not halo 1 multiplayer over live. so disappointed.
I just finished watching the E3 coverage. I was at work so I had to catch up. MS was a snooze for the most part. Oh Gears of War 3, wait I already knew it was coming and there wasn't anything mind blowing revealed. Halo HD, Halo 4, sorry I can only take so many games with manly space marines and I like Gears of War better. All the Kinect shit they can stick back up their ass. The Star Wars thing was sad because it's such a great series for games and the "game" was so pathetic. I guess it's great for kids and the mentally handicapped. Multi-platform, Assassin's Creed should be cool but nothing new. CoD MW3 will probably be very CoD like, shocking. There was some game I saw but don't remember the name. There were I think 4 characters shown (2 female) with some odd art style that looked interesting. There was a bit on Dead Island which might be cool. Sony had a decent showing. It wasn't mind blowing. Too much crap about the Move. The PSV being announced to retail for $250 was big news though. Definitely looks like 3DS won't be able to cruise on the success of the DS. The 3DS is going to look awfully expensive (just like the Wii did) compared to the competition. But both have to prove their worth with software worth playing. I'm interested to see Nintendo tomorrow. They have their work cut out for them certainly. The really need to reveal must-have 3DS titles as well as prove their new console is worth the attention of real gamers.
Honestly the psv is actually very attractive for what it is at that price compared to the 3ds. I expected it to cost a lot more and to be honest I am more tempted to buy one now. Also dug that 3d monitor sony is showing off considering the price. I wouldn't be shocked if nintendo dropped the price of the 3ds to $200-180 around christmass time. By then the 3ds will probably have a decent enough library to push sales.
