Agree 100% So when you play Mario on Wii U, you get to see speech bubbles next to each level from what other users are saying as if we cared. Turning game consoles into Facebook is just ridiculous.

Wasn't much shown really, and not much information...

 

As if most of the gaming people had minimum education, I don't want to see curse words spamming my game selection menu everytime I want to play Mario, or Mario, or Mario.

 

To me, all the conferences were disappointing, but mostly the Nintendo one, not because was the worst of them, but because they had the ball, Nintendo could have controlled the E3 this year if the conference were good, and what they miss the chance.

I`m very disappointed with all the companies sincerelly, but this was kind of expected seen how the industry is going. =/

 

This all seems like the same bitching and doom and gloom from every year as of late. I really think it's because of the change in the market that really gears itself toward expanding and making as much profit as possible which means less catering to regular video game players and more to casual and "noob" players.

There are a few games that look pretty solid. And then there was a whole lot of crap shown and talked about at great lengths. Just ignore it and you'll feel a lot better. The problem is if you actually subject yourself to watch their whole press events live and such. You should just wait for the headlines to ONLY see the bits you actually are interested in. Ofcourse you're going to be pissed off if you waste your time hearing about dumb dancing games and Wii Fit or whatever.

Gears of War 4 looks decent. Might be interested in that. There was a nice New SMB2 for 3DS, some other stuff. I think you do yourself a disservice if you really hype up about E3 and watch all the shit live.

 

If I'm being honest, I've been disappointed by e3 for last 3, 4, maybe 5 years. It's been a long time since I saw an e3 with games I'm genuinely interested in. There wasn't a single damn game that really interested me in any of the conferences so far.

Microsoft is trying to turn the Xbox brand into a multimedia hub. If that's the case, goodbye Xbox.

The Last of Us appears to be stereotypically western in a bad way, similar to how games like Hyperdimension Neptunia are stereotypically Japanese in a bad way. Sometimes I feel like my only choices are gritty, realistic, violent, and "mature" western games filled to the brim with sex and nudity (because that's what 13 yea- I mean "adults" want), or childish, awkward, animu Japanese games with borderline underage main characters and awful storytelling. Can we get some middle ground and a little more variety next gen? Please? But whatever, Sony fanboys seem to be eating it up, along with anything else Naughty Dog shits out, so whatever floats their boat, I guess.

As for Nintendo, I couldn't be any more neutral at this point.

EDIT: I just remembered the last game to get me excited at e3. e3 2010 - Metal Gear Solid: Rising. And then look what happened...

 

When a Publisher/Developer Conference (Ubisoft) is more interesting than the big 3 console manufactures you know that something is very wrong.

 

I think Nintendo completely dominated the other two companies, if only because they focsed on actual games as opposed to ridiculous crap. Pikmin 3 looks cool, New Super Mario Bros. Wii U is... another 2D Mario. And Nintendo Land actually looks fun. Go read the descriptions of the games, they're fairly clever if you have a few friends around. Much better than more Wii Sports drivel.

Though I do not understand at all why ME3 is coming out on the Wii U. Who the hell would buy that?

That said, is Sony retarded? All Vita games will be on phones? Why in God's name would anyone want a Vita now?

 

Ugh... why did I even bother watching Nintendo's event. The only thing that interested me wasn't shown. Why mention a Zelda title and not show anything. Now if one of the following was shown, I'd be floored.

Of course they are. Exhibit A: The PSP Go. Looks like the death clock is ticking for Vita already. The funny part is that the games will be available on HTC phones: even Sony knows Sony Ericsson's phones are shit.

 

So when the Wii U flops who will buy Nintendo?

I do like the new Mario games, so that's at least got me curious about the Wii U. Until I see something more I'll be waiting it out like I did with the Wii.
Never cared for the Vita or PSP since they seem like nothing more than portable-ized consoles at a high price. With handhelds, hardware power isn't that much of an issue with me. As long as it sips on the battery and is a blast to play, that's good enough.
