Ok folks sorry but do not have allot of nintendo experience but can someone explain how they see this all hooked up. i am real curious on how all this hooks together. What i believe I know is the 64DD will read the blue disc from that I am unclear. I would realy like to know this also because I have few of these disc myself. The only thing I remember for my disc is they were suppose to be unreleased games but can not remember what they were. Once we have a clear path on what corey needs I would be glad to digg and see what I have that can help but at this time I am unsure what is truely needed. maybe Once corey is done with his he could return the favor on mine. Just in case this is all you need I found this on ebay I know this would normally go in ebay section but it sounded by all the talk this may be what you are looking for http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-Dev-Ninten...ryZ62054QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Heh I love the old ROARVGM link the guy uses in his auction.... Kind of makes me miss the museum aspect. *is Saddened*
The item appears to be exactly what coreycorey2000 needed from the previous auction (from the same seller as well): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170078502372 Too bad it has already ended with BIN.
If I'm not misstaken that cable looks like a colorful IDE cable (maybe SCSI, hard to tell without being able to count the pins). If you needed that you can get them a dime a dozen easy.
Yeah, it does look like a 44-pin IDE cable. If you don't have any handy just let me know, I have quite a few (from old computers and such). They might not be long enough, however.
This is a nice little visual reference of what corey is trying to do. It's almost right, we need a Parnter64 cart, yes... anything else on this picture is familar? Let's say the blue disk is Mother 3.
good luck figuring out how to play with the DCC board's switch ;p The diagrams don't seem to outline that
Not sure if this is obvious knowledge, or even asked before, but: if corey does succed at his goal, how will people be able to use the dumped image? Can N64 emulators do 64DD, or is it more just to hack the hell out of it and find the leftovers?
Nobody is really interested in emulating it at the moment with no major dumps avalible (except for a small circle of people). I've personaly started documenting the IPL but have stoped due to lack of time to keep it up (also the v64jr is starting to piss me off). I hope to finaly figure out the magic gate number to get the DD to do a proper reset. So far my results have caused for odd behaviors.
True, but Zilmar is a busy man. I spoke to him about 3 years ago on the subject but I m sure he ll need something more tangible. Also, i don't know if he think's emulation is worth for 9 titles. Nevertheless, even if corey's image is dumped and is valid indeed, it would need the DevIPL to boot, which I m not sure many people would have (versus the commercial IPL which has been dumped by people)
Not really. He would need time (which he does not have tons of atm) and a full DD unit as well. Atm he is not fully interested. I've discussed with him over this subject quite a bit so i'm not random guessing on this.
I've been watching this thread for years and i'm worring if we will ever get to the bottom of all of this. I'm really hoping corny has the lost game which is mother 3 but will we ever find out :\
