Wait... the auction is over.. and it ended at $200... and corey or pinkbull didn't win....

    how does that make sense...

unless he obtained one an alternative way

I checked at the Starmen thread, and Pinkbull says coreycorey2000 won the auction. However, I always thought that his eBay ID was also coreycorey2000. I dunno though...

I could've sworn it was Ico66...And he told me that he didn't want to do business with me so I told him that I wouldn't bid on it and let him have at it...I never got a reply from him so I have no idea.

...And after a quick check...It wasn't Corey's unless he has two and that is one of em... =/

Well according to eBay, ico66's location is in Italy (plus feedback has already been left). I thought coreycorey2000 resides somewhere in North America.

Canada, actually. I wish I would have still bid on it even after Corey tole me not to but...It's better to keep someones trust than burning it in a fire of rightatude or somethin' of that matter.

Yes unfortunately I lost. I bid up to $200 like I said I would. I was actually placing a higher bid but ran out of time.

Is there nobody on here who has the relevant kit to do this that you could just send it to to see what's inside it?

After all this time, I've come to think those cartridges are cursed with a japanese spell. This last time (with that Partner on eBay) it seemed the end was so near...:crying:

Now just a second there. I definitely had the urge to call BS on this.

at first I was pissed b/c obviously those carts usually go for alot more so it seems like a missed opportunity.

But, he did bid upto his spending limit and was about to bid more. 200 dollars for a part that may or may not be useful to you is alot of money. Sure its resellable on ebay, and sites like assembler, but obsure gaming parts while valueble, may be harder to sell.

I mean this cart only went for 200, while with patience the seller could have probably grabbed alot more. In the short term your throwing money away.

You guys have to remeber that this "Blue Disc Saga" has been going on for quite some time. And Corey has stuck with it for months. So while I'd like him to just go and pay the ridculous price for the 64DD development kit, I certainly shouldn't expect this of him.

You know thats a lot of money. And it seems he's spent alot of time and money on this project.

If it were me I'd want it to be over with. But, I'm not him.

In fact, hasn't he bought parts from other people? How bout we just be patient and if someone on this board aquires a extra partner64 then sell it to corey and have this end.

    Another solution is

If money is an issue maybe just, maybe someone themselves has the tools to extract the data from those disks.

Or perhaps, someone feels like spending the crazy moola on the 64DD dev system.

I guess then a proposal of a 'rental' of the carts similar to the earthbound zero disks.

I do agree that I'd like to see something happen as this has spanned quite some time.

This is the kind of thing I was thinking about earlier, would Corey be interested in something like this?

People have agreed with me that it isn't worth the risk of mailing the disks. I think Assembler even agreed and he is the only person who has spoke up that knows how to boot these disks. You can't insure magnetic media.

If someone wants to loan me the stuff to finally see what is on these disks. I can send plenty of collateral. I just can't afford the cash at the moment.

I'm one of the best BS'ers in the world to pull this off. Just wait until you see some of the amazing fake screenshots I've been working on. You can't rush perfection.

    That was a joke BTW

Why would I waste my time with fake disks. I'm sorry guys but I don't need attention.

What equipment to do you still need to access the disks?

There seems to be some confusion over what equipment you already have and what you need to get to finally get access to the disks.

Can someone list exaclty what Corey needs - 64DD DEV is not my speciality but I would guess....
    • KMC Partner 64
    • Partner 64 Cart
    • Ribbon cable & ISA Card (Is this needed to play the game or just to transfer?)
    • 64DD DEV drive
    • IPL4ROM
Can someone correct my expected mistakes above!?!

Subbie seems very knowledgable about this, theres a very interesting thread on using a VJ64 to run the IPL4ROM, would this be an alternative to the Partner Cart? - I take it you would still need at least the 64DD Dev drive and most probobley the Partner 64?

Have to admit I am after this information not only for Corey but also my own needs, I have a bare bones 64DD DEV drive with a box of blue disks that I have always been interested in viewing!:icon_bigg

You can't claim it but you can say that it is magnetic media and they will visually
inspect it instead of sending it through the xray scanner.

PM me with a list of the hardware you already have and need. Might be able to help out..

Okay I'll try to clear things up.

    What I have:
NU64 Flash Gang Writer (to write IPL4rom to a dev cart)
    N64 Development Cart Blank
    KMC N64 System
    64DD Development System
    IPLRom Cart

What I think I still need:
    Partner64 cartridge
    ISA Card
SCSI cable to connect Gangwriter to PCI card

This the cart you need? I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is if I can help see this through, so long as I get something back (preferably the item itself). I am waiting on a reply about a possible dev kit purchase so I'll watch and wait.

A SCSI cable would be damn easy to get ahold of depending on the specifics, whats this ISA card required?

EDIT: Oh durr I thought it was a pricy item, doesn't look that pricy from similar auctions that have ended. Still willing to aquire pending the dev kit deal.

Yes that is the cartridge that I need. However it seems I need would need a special card to connect it to a computer. Someone linked to an auction for a Partner 64 cart but didn't come with the ISA card and someone else said it would be useless.

The scsi cable that is needed is HD50- Mini Centronics 50 Cable which was kinda difficult to track down. But I've had a source for a while. I haven't bought it yet because I haven't bought a Partner 64 cart. I can buy it at anytime.

I really need someone to clarify exactly what is necessary. Because I don't know. My best guess is above. But everyone has different opinions it seems.
