Not entirely true. He knew it was rare from the moment he clamped eyes on it, he knew it was worth a lot more than he paid for it. Incidentally, if he is to be believed then he's not really made any profit on the item yet! This guy goes to media auctions, check his other items and his feedback score. He's hardly new to electronic goods. He is a professional photographer to trade (surprisingly considering the poor images / rotation) so is familiar with high end goods.

I've had AG members asking me what the unit is capable of and what it would actually do, so given he's not into gaming equipment it's no surprise to me that it's taken him by surprise and he caught wind of its potential value straight away. It doesn't matter whether he thought it was an electric coat hanger or a fizzy toothbrush from Mars - everyone else knew, that's where the money is coming from!

Considering how many of these items get pulled it is always better to speak with the seller imho. Given that some twonk posted queries on Playstation.com it's more than likely the auction will be pulled.

It's a trade off. Speak and you gain a bit of information, get to know the seller and his intentions or hold your silence and potentially miss out. Given the nature of the item it was NEVER in a month of Sundays going to slip under the bargain radar! It would have been fantastic, but go back and look at the speed and number of people placing bids. No item I have sold has from the off attracted that kind of attention or that many bidders.

I'm not the seller and I have had approximately 50 PM's and emails about this item today, that's how weird this whole thing has been!

When I bought mine it had sat for roughly 10mins without anyone paying any attention to it. Ten whole minutes is all it took! Had this guys unit been on BIN then none of us would have ever noticed it, it'd been gone in minutes too.

I will say however JDC, if I ever do get around to selling my unit you will most definately be offered the first refusal on it - for ages I have been aware that you've been after one, and frankly I think more of them will start to hit the market.

For anyone who is seriously interested in the unit then I think the only way to secure it is to speak directly with the seller and make a firm offer. If it's not pulled I will be surprised. If it is pulled you'll be thankful you got your name in.

Difficult as I can appreciate your frustrations - like many others who have spoken to me about it - but given the reaction and number, the spread of interest it was a busted flush!

I'm dubious of Bidder 9 as he / she has low feedback score (not registering even in the 10-49 range) plus of 42 bids, he or she has placed 21 (to date) and raised the bar considerably. Take that particular bidder out of the equasion and the unit would slump back towards the bargain area.

Pulled by SCEE - I've asked the owner to let me know what the final price he accepts is (as and when he does).

    See this:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NV1
(nVidia did a video chip that handled graphics the same way as the Saturn did: quadrilateral vs. triangle for everyone else).

No shipping info for outside Europe? Is that eBay's fault?

Sega Dreambox CX-1 (personally I think it's the ugliest console I have ever seen) but maybe somebody here is looking for the missing link in their sega collection?

And some other stuff from the same seller:
