    what is the point in having the satellaview for the snes if they stoped airing...and do they even work on american snes's?

    The American SNES is physically a different shape from the Super Famicom, so you can't attach the Satellaview to it. You're right that there's no more broadcasting going on, but the Satellaview can still play games that were downloaded to the BS-X memory cartridges, though those seem to be exceedingly rare.

    Cheers - Its a pity I have to get rid of it but space/money issues are always a problem! Going to be moving out of my uni house and ALL my stuff has to fit into one car - still going to be an insane squeeze!

    Yet you can't read the BS-X memory carts with what the guy is selling.It seems he only sells the Satellaview modem.And you need the BS-X cart reader to read the cartridges.
    Basically,the Satellaview modem is only for collection,and also your sfc looks cool on it,but you can't do anything with it.
