If he tips the units upside down - he could prove it in minutes!

BTW - not having a go at anyone, just hoping nobody bids on it and VA cancels until this seller can PROVE this stuff is genuine, or removes the false items and relists the genuine article(s) he has shown to be real.

Too easy these days to shout "development" and make £££ on people who are enthusiastic collectors. It's a growing bunch and eBay are not giving a shit (or so it seems) at the moment. There was a time you just had to say "dev" in a listing and it would be pulled!

Look again and you will see some differences.

Yes, it's time to flood the market with fake non-working yaroze dongles!

Who's the resident AG Nintendo guru? Any chance of getting him / her to have a look to see whether this is really genuine Ninty dev kit?

Okay, so there is evidence that Nintendo produced NR Readers in purple. That helps!

I still say the Xbox material & games are bogus, bollocks!

Who's ever seen / used an HDD GC?

kammedo, don't worry I'll let you win the auction without a single bid from me!
Parris, I know that, once I found out how to dump the yaroze dongle with the help of my new dexdrive, I'll let you know...

A few points about the supposed dev systems

The xbox is fake if you look at the screen/tv the clear Xbox is sitting on it has Homebrew games, Emulators in the menu which suggests a modded console being that MS would never have anything like that on a dev machine.

Upon closer inspection of the reported GC HDD it look like a simple pc hdd and that NGC disc emu sys was printed on a sticker and placed on some free area.

Those yellow stickers look like they are just normal stickers you would find on Anti-Staic bags and the likes when purchasing pc components

I say they are really sh** fakes

Yup, already said that last page, its a skin for media centre, and i can pretty much guarentee that the chip inside it is a xecuter2.6 just by seeing the front switch

    Excellent thanks UJ - It wasn't a hint ;-)

I've been thinking about a DexDrive too. Spotted a few in the US. Nothing on UK eBay at present. I like the idea of being able to store game saves on something a little larger than an 8Mb (or larger) PS2 card.

Yeah, this is genuine. I can vouch for that one as I have it. It isn't much use unless you own a DVT-3 or DVT-4 development kit as they don't connect to Debug units. Even then, you require the correct software (drivers are actually included with the SDK from Microsoft, so the fact there is no drivers disc is not an issue).

Once set up, you'll probably never use it again! Mine was eventually removed from the PC case and put back in it's box. £20 is about the going rate. Nice that it has it's original box.

Do you think several people telling him at once should do the trick?

afaik. there is no dev GC unit with a internal HDD (except for that homebrew thing). The closest thing would probably be one of those NPDP readers.. but they don't have a internal drive.

And this one made me wonder. It looks like it just laying there lose (also it looks like the drive was produced in Mars-99, don't know maybe it could work.. that's ~1yr before it was unveiled to the press)

The crystal XBOX "devkit" is clearly modded as can be seen on this image http://www.sntech.mine.nu/ebayaucti...ery/albums/SummerClearance2Water/IMG_1740.jpg
    http://www.sntech.mine.nu/ebayaucti...ery/albums/SummerClearance2Water/IMG_1888.jpg

This one could have been a ODEM/Marlin/XDK interface card.. thought it more likely is a normal SCSI card.
    http://www.sntech.mine.nu/ebayaucti...ery/albums/SummerClearance2Water/IMG_1745.jpg

This does not look like any of the ODEM/Marlin cables I've ever seen, thought I could be wrong

I don't know.. but personally I would like to scream fake! :D

The HDD in that GC Dev unit seems to have a photoshopped label as the edges have a blue tinge...

shite if VA retracts i`m in top bidder and i was the one who was saying i hoped it wasnt retail kits with label makers. It`s annoying the bid retractions don`t cover misleading auction content as an option.
