I used to have one a while back, it was taking up space and I sold it on eBay. It sold for over £100, which was a total shock to me.

Yawara's PSx debug (green) - USA

Still hanging on in there at $299.00 is Yawara's green PS1 debugging station, like a limpit stuck to the underbelly of a deep water sub.

I will applaud the day this damned thing sells. I am desperate to obtain one, but not that desperate. If that thing was inclusive of shipping to the UK (plus VAT) I might just do it to be the proud owner of eBay's longest running auction item.

<NtS, and frankly neither is Yawara>

Not to mention that the case has a great big hole in the side. Probably caused by a limpet mine mistaking it it for a deep water sub... ;-)

Same chap has had some Panasonic Q stuff up forever at fairly steep prices, too. I imagine that the recurring ebay relisting fees must be slowly eating away the value of these things.

I've seen normal European PS1s with similar holes. Actually my cousin used one back in the day. I think some people cracked open the case on purpose because the older models used to get really hot around the internal PSU. An alternative was to drill some holes in the top. Since these old Japanese debug stations also use an internal PSU rather than the external one like the later models this might be the reason for it. Preventing overheating.. Cruel, but I guess it works.
