    Are they RARE DEVELOPMENT moths? :lol:

    These PSX units still seem to be holding their prices pretty well. ~$350 before shipping is the lowest I've seen a 160Gb one go for on ebay. Even 'junk' units on Yahoo Japan seem to command a pretty penny...

    that was f*king cheap! not surprisig really though with the poor wording and description, it doesnt mention anywhere that it is nintendo related, or anything to do with gamecube or 'Q' also it was not even listed in the gaming section but in dvd players, most people only search by keywords, its surprising what you can find when you search hard enough, ive had some great baragins before now buy hunting around, and sometimes stumbling on somethings purely by chance thanks to sellers poor descriptions and knowlage

    It looks too pimped out to be a prototype, so I'm guessing that the seller meant it was a prototype of a mod.

    crappy translation from what the auction in german says:

    "Zur Auktion steht heute eines unser Vorführgeräte eine PS1 Audio/Testversion SCPH-1002. Umbau der FA. TET-Computerspezials"

    translates to:

    "up for auction today is one of our demonstration models of a PS1 Audio/Testversion SCPH-1002. Remodelling of the company TET-Computerspecials"

    I guess with all the hype about the PS1 as an hifi CD-Player they did a modding of one for showcase in hope to sell lots of them but it doesn't seem like it worked out, so this is the one "prototype" they made.

    hope that helps

    Clarifies why the mod looks so damned professional, thanks!

    Me too, though the fan/temparature thing is a bit too 'pimp my ride' for my tastes.

    Anyway, looks like the seller pulled the auction, though they're also selling some custom PS1 case paint jobs. BTW, I do dislike the kind of flash based picture shows the seller uses - it's kinda disturbing to suddenly have music playing at you & it makes it hard to load the images into a viewer to zoom in on details etc...

    HA! I actually never noticed as I often have my speakers turned off! I've got one of those little wind-up radios and that keeps me company whilst online :)

    It would have been a better having an analogue display, something like a VU meter or speedometer showing you the fan/temp. :dance:

    Just a reminder this is ending in 12hrs or so, if anyone fancies taking a stab as it`s still very reasonably priced, reserve is not far away at all.

    Also two CIB NES games ending around the same time;
