Yeah really. Then I would be able to take him 1% more seriously about his "custom" work because as of now he just ripped off the screen...

 

To be fair he probably didnt rip off the screen, DS's missing the top screen are ubiquitous, but I've passed up on buying them for cheap [£1 or so] because I thought they were only for parts if one of the screens is not detected. Is he doing anything fancy to get the bottom screen to work on its own?

 

If this were true then that would be even worse because he is claiming that it is "custom!"

 

Nope, it's still displays the bottom screen. Only thing he did was put speakers at the bottom. lol

 

Drop shipping from the ukraine, total fail. Uk sellers already sell it £15 cheaper, and buy from krizz yourself for £20 cheaper.

 

They refuse to boot without the top screen.

 

If both of these are true then I would like to retract my previous stabs at his custom work. I didn't notice the speakers prior to posting and I also didn't realize it took any work to get the DS to run without a top screen.

All that has to be done to make a DS boot without the top screen is to flash the firmware. Fairly easy thing to do if you have a way to run homebrew and can open the battery compartment. Flashed my old DS Lite when it worked and tried booting it without the top screen. It worked.
