Do a Google image search for the power set. You'll see both of these types of seals. I think the real problem is that a factory case wouldn't have a mix of different box revisions.

Could someone please verify that this actually came shrink wrapped when new?? Looks like it was wrapped later on in its life.

You are missing the logo from 1989-2003 in there, which is the one on the box. Looks just like the 2003 one, only they removed the words "of Quality" that followed "Seal".

I guess he bought a new set and put it in there, which is a shame, but not a total dealbreaker as the shipping box itself is the rarest part of the set. For $45k it is a ripoff, however - douchebag.

The Intellivision hit the Japanese market in 1982, not 1979. The auction is real, every brand-new Japanese Intellivision console I have ever seen for sale had the exact same odd shrinkwrap. The shrinkwrap is way too identical and yellowed to have been done by used game shops in the recent past.

Only the Japanese console had shrinkwrap, even the manuals/cables were included on a cardboard with shrinkwrap around the whole stuff to keep it organized. They really made good use of that new technology when they brought the Intellivision to Japan.
