Yeah ebay is pissing me off. I only sold one game on ebay last month and I got my ebay bill a couple days ago and says I owe them $10 something. That's stupid, I'm done with them

Yeah but why pay 4.10$ a month for Xbox Live when I can get the exact same functionality on my PC for free? (PSN almost)

And this is just for being able to play online games. (You'd think that by paying for it to you'd get Dedicated servers. NOPE. Most games still use Peer to Peer shit.)

Not to mention whether you pay for Xbox live or not, if your 360 is connected to the internet you have Ads take up 90% of the space in the dashboard shoved down your throat all day.

I keep my Xbox completely disconnected from the internet.

I Haven't paid for Xbox Live since the original Xbox and I don't ever plan on doing so again.

You guys should make an mercado livre account so you could see how awesome the ebay is.

The taxes here goes up to 10% on the seller and 10% on the buyer if he uses the credit card payment and you can't contact the seller because that's against the rules.

I've abandoned eBay altogether now. Not only because of the fees but due to the poor way in which they handle disputes. My PayPal account has been £300 negative for the past month because three sellers decided they wanted £10-20 compensation for damage to items that doesn't exist. Oddly enough these kind of customers always suffer from an inability to speak english and they often admit that they didn't read the item description. FYI I'm not being racist, it's just a flat out observation.

The disputes always begin on eBay for the requested amount but then PayPal has an knee jerk reaction and immediately claws back all of the original payment for the item and holds it effectively crippling the account. Which is kinda ironic seeing as the two companies pretty much deny that any communication between them exists.

I'm fed up of having the piss taken out of me by scamming asshat buyers whilst being bled dry by a faceless company with no common sense.

I'm in a situation where I can't sell or receive money at all. I can't pay my eBay fees because there asshattery has locked up my PayPal account (and I refuse to add yet another credit card to the mix) and if I could pay my fees I wouldn't be able to sell anything because receiving a payment would just drown into the wrongfully created negative balance (which after 48 days is still present despite it clearly being me in the right as the buyers have made no actions or responded to any of the dispute arranged questions presented by eBay). I know it'll all sort eventually but if I was a business this would have effectively crippled me.

Anyway, I realise this is a little off-topic but I had to get it out. I'm really surprised that some huge lawsuit involving eBay hasn't come into play yet. It's like the world's biggest rogue company, everybody knows it but nobody has done anything about it.

I also found out the other day that they own Gumtree too...I thought the tone of their friendly reminder emails sounded familiar.

    I FUCKING HATE EBAY!

Yeah eBay sucks for small time sellers. Things got really shitty starting a few years ago when they took away just about everything to protect sellers. No way for seller to leave negs for non paying buyer. No way for seller to leave negs to warn that buyer switches item and sends junk back for forced refund. No way for seller to leave negs to warn that buyer habitually "loses" credit card info, runs up $15,000 a month, then file chargebacks.

Recently a new scam popped up, a buyer can claim counterfeit good, just sign and fax paper that the item is destroyed and they get the money back. The item doesn't need to be destroyed, just lie to eBay or Paypal it is. Seller doesn't get anything back at all. Say I buy a Virtual Space Invaders for Virtualboy for about $400, when I get it I file claim it is fake. They say destroy it and fax signature. That's all, and I can keep working Space Invaders for "free"

eBay bends backward for buyers very quickly. For large volume sellers, they can easily handle occasional scamming buyer or 2 and still keep excellent rating. But for small volume sellers like me who tosses 3 or 4 games a month on eBay. It just takes 2 unfriendly buyers to make my DSR go down and my account becomes restricted, fee jacked up to OMFG level, or unable to sell at all.

Of course forums like this will always be good for niche products but what about other stuff?

I joined eBay way back in 2001/2002 when PayPal didn't exist and most of my payments came or were sent via postal order, concealed cash (haven't heard that for a while) or cheque. It was an absolute pleasure and yeah there was a delay in turning around products and receiving stuff but it was always hassle free.

I think impatience is what is slowly fucking this world, everybody wants everything now. I'm a big Apple fan but it makes me sick to hang around forums (MacRumours for example) because you get people whining about shutdown times taking an extra 2 seconds etc. What the fuck is wrong with people?

of course this forum will never be a very big market place but afaik there isn't a special rule to forbid selling or buying items that are not niche. i feel more safe when i buy things from someone here with a good feedback than i buy from ebay with paypal protection.

eBay is so greedy! They've let go a lot of their U.S. staff in favor of outsourcing, they charge you eBay listing fees, then charge again for end of auction total. Then of course, they own PayPal and they take their cut from that too! They triple dip and they want a higher percentage? Outrageous!

As much as Ebay sucks. Where else could I sell a Michael jackson CD for $565? And where could I get a copies of Ninja Warriors and hagane on Snes for $90 all up posted? Or a lot of 7 games including Rival Turf, Smash TV, Super Tennis, hyper Zone, Judge Dread, TURTLES IN TIME & CASTLEVANIA VAMPIRE'S KISS posted for $161??

Ebay is a bitch like Itunes and Microsoft but what can you do?

ebay works wonders for us rural buyers, seller treatment aside.
A local source of retro and import items at any comparable price and quantity is simply NOT happening.
