Eventhough I hate Ebay/Paypal and what they stand for, usually most stuff especially old modded consoles go under the radar so if you ask me it's obvious people that hate you are messing with you.
Ebay has no choice but to pull the auction as its in the rules when somebody send in a complaint.

If I were you I would open second anonymous account to sell your stuff, if you ever plan to use ebay again.. sadly 0 feedback is a pain but people eventually buy everything that goes for a nice price.

And people still get away with selling obvious roms on cds with emulators. I reported one once and was told it was ok

Also sellers are getting screwed more and more with charge backs on PayPal, it just is too much of a gamble to sell these days.

TBH all places are full of shit, scams are part of life on these second hand market sites.. as suggested before just dump all your stuff in an AG shop see what sells, you have enough public, specific gaming public over here and you can advertise it at gamesniped as well.

I couldn't agree more. Forums are the only place I trade/sell anymore as you know (better) who you are dealing with.

I'd love to be able to run an assembler shop. I hate having to redo posts all the time.

What about a game-only auction site? has anyone tried that yet?

I don't understand why in the first place you would put it up on ebay without even mentioning it on your own forum's marketplace.

An Asssemblergames webshop system, where every user (with enough posts etc.) can have his own little shop. That would be awesome!

If you need more donations, to accomplish that, I'd happily donate!

An AG shop sounds cool, you could use a simple osCommerce script and set up a little store with all your stuff on here.

If you want to add functionality there are TONS of add-ons and contributions on the osCommerce community.

I believe there is also a plugin that allows for multiple sellers (if you'd like to turn the marketplace into that) but I haven't tried it so don't know if it is any good at all.

Ebay is giving shit, too. I paid a late invoice back in November and just recently I got an alert from them about that unpaid invoice warning that my account can be suspended and sent to a collection agency. HOWEVER, I have proof from paypal and my bank that I paid that stupid invoice.

I tried to look for a damn phone number to call them but I couldn't find one in their 'contact us' section. The damn place kept sending me around in circles just to make sure everything was ok. I basically, gave up as it all looks like it's taken care of.

I still buy from eBay because some stuff isn't too badly priced, but sellers get raped with fees now. And I'm pretty easygoing, but it's become too expensive even for me.

I think that by charging a small post fee, plus ads, the whole operation could be self-sustainable.

Haven't worked with OScommerce in a while, but then again there are several frameworks out there that could fit the requeriments.

I think the point is the layout: will it be limited to used stuff? what about regions, shouldnt it be global? what payment methods should be allowed? and customer care, that last one could be tricky since scammers are everywhere these days...

eBay gave me a strike one time because I had a Sega Saturn card, which in addition to expanding memory, also did region free

    (--_--)zzz Z Z Z.

    Totally lame.

Yes, there are lots, and maybe there might be one out there with an already done plugin to bridge vBulletin accounts with it, that would be nice, so you could set a certain group of users with privileges to buy/sell (just like we have on our site with z_killemall in which we linked phpbb3 accounts with MediaWiki and only users within the wiki group in the forum have editing preferences in the wiki).

I suggested osCommerce as I believe it's one of the easiest to set up, but then again, if it's aimed for multiple sellers I don't know if it would be the best choice.

Payment could easily be limited to PayPal to avoid any trouble.

Adding plugins for calculating shipping via USPS, UK Royal Mail, UPS, FedEx, DHL, as to make it global.

Used as well as new stuff could be ok, although there'd be much more used than new stuff on sale anyways.

It might not be a bad idea after all and not so hard to pull off.

Ahhh this reminds me of the time I logged in to ebay.com instead of .nl to search for stuff and saw a notice about the unpaid invoice.. paid it and off course months later the .nl started sending me threats to pay my unpaid invoice lol... took me a while to clear that crap.

Indeed, it's not so difficult at all, thats why I asked if nobody had tried that before.

I asked for new since that could bring a lot of customers for rare imported stuff like LE consoles and games thats not being released elsewhere.

About limiting the use I agree if it's for selling, but buying too? that could limit the use, big-time, since this is not a really popular forum, and that most users merely post their sales here to let other users know, and not every time, which pretty much tells you odds of selling here compared to a mainstream site.

Then again, an Assemblergames webshop might attract the wrong people.
